The assembly of the Spanish de Vela was held telematically

The General Assembly of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation, held in telematics, approved the budget project for the next financial year, which is expected to cover the Federation's revenue of seven million euros.

The competition calendars for both light sailing and cruises were also approved, Andrés Álvarez Gil was ratified as a new member of the technical station and José Manuel Agudo was chosen as the representative of this station for the delegated commission.

In addition, the report on the economic performance projection of 2022 in relation to the budget was presented to the Assembly and the minutes of the autonomous federations on the federal quotas for next year were approved.

For his part, Joan Sanfelíu, treasurer of the Federation, said that the budget project presented amounts to €6.987 million, an increase in the money to be entered from the current year which will result in increased investment in sport.

The members of the assembly were also able to check the positive outcome of the audit of the Federation's accounts, which in the financial year 2021 had a positive balance of 280 thousand euros.

On the strictly sporting level, it was noted that the Spanish candle achieved in 2022 with a total of 58 international podiums, including 8 champions from the world and 10 from Europe. Of the total medals, 26 correspond to the strategic classes and the non-absolute Olympic sailing, which has shown, one more year, that Spain is one of the great international powers.

In order to grow these numbers, the RFEV has presented a joint work system that is born in the sailing schools of the nautical clubs. To this end, it is proposed to plan sports, resources and calendar shared between clubs, autonomous federations and national federation.
