The Christmas Race, organized by the Club Nàutic Costa Brava Vela Palamós, reaches its 46 edition with a participation close to the 300 crews and 400 regatists of both Olympic sailing ILCA 6 Women and light sailing (ILCA4, ILCA6 Male and Female, Europe Male and Female, 420 Female and Joint), representing 13 countries.

This edition has chosen to bet on future crews, with very powerful classes recognized by the World Sailing, the International Federation of Veles, for promotion and in the Olympic classes. One of the new developments to this year's edition is the return of the Europe class.

Sunday day 18 is a day dedicated to the confirmation of inscriptions and from Monday 19 to Thursday 22 December, the waters of the bay of Palamós will again receive the best regatists of Europe and the great Olympic promises, in this case with the looks set to Paris 2024. For several years the Palamosense race has been the great test bank for the most powerful teams on the continent, such as Britain, France, Italy, and this year Portugal has joined, which do not hesitate to send their best teams to compete to the waters of Palamós.

Among the most prominent crews are the Maria Perelló / Marta Cardona baleares, 420 youth world champions in Hungary and 420 absolute world subchampions in the Netherlands. In this same class in the male category will also be the baleares Marc Mesquida i Ramon Jaume, subchampions of European youth class 420.

The alicantine Roca Ascension of Togores, three times the world of the Europe class, will compete on this occasion in the Christmas Race in the Olympic class ILCA 6 Women.

The European champion of the class Optimist 2022, the ballet Xavier García Ollé, in the edition of 2021 competed in Palamós in ILCA 4 and on this occasion will already do so in ILCA 6 Male.

In local key, the record of participants of the CN Costa Brava / Vela Palamós stands out where Ramon Figueras, the current Spanish champion and Emma Collins, the European class champion of Catalonia, stand out.

The 420 class that has already been consolidated as a reference and is the largest in this Christmas Race over 100 registered ships.

Countries: Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and Ukraine.

The 46th edition of the international race Christmas Race, which will be held from 18 to 22 December in the waters of the Bay of Palamós and which will bring together about 300 vessels from 13 countries, has been presented today to the Espai del Peix: the classes participating in this year's edition: the Olympic ILCA 6 Women as well as light sailing (ILCA4, ILCA6 Male and Female, Europe Male and Female, 420 Female and Joint).

The Sunday day 18 will be a day of registration and from Monday day 19 to Thursday day 22 will be held the competition where the fleet will be divided into two areas of race, in one there will be the individual classes and the other the double ones.
