The Sea of Asturias a new masterpiece by Felix González Muñiz
The Sea of Asturias a new masterpiece by Felix González Muñiz

This time Felix temporarily abandons the thematic line of the headlights, once he has already traveled half of Spain from lighthouse to lighthouse in an exciting task intended to finally photograph all the Spanish headlights, to offer now a collection of much more varied photos, but all with the common denominator of having as a stage the coast of Asturias
Puntual like almost all these last years since 2014, at the beginning of the winter, when the first drills of the Canadian train begin to arrive, to cover the high peaks with snow and to see the most mature oricians in the windows of the fish, a new photo book of the avilesino nautical photographer Felix González is published, intended to threaten the long winter season with its beautiful and evocative maritime images. This book is the seventh in a long series of publications, which began in 2014.

This new publication will allow you to observe the thematic and technical evolution experienced by the photographer over all these years and will certainly be welcomed by fans of photography in general and of nautical or maritime photography in particular
It could be said that with this book the author wants to leave a certain legacy, after 34 years of continuous work, which began in 1988. A collection of 150 chosen photographs, an authentic reserve of the family product of the selection and distillation of hundreds, not to say thousands, of photographs made in the most varied contexts: coastal and ocean regats, harbour works, preparation of monotematic exhibitions, presentation to photographic competitions, edition of books.... to which a long series of new photographs are added, made specifically for this book.

This cycle from 2014 to 2022 is somehow closed with this new book "The Sea of Asturias," with which the author retakes the coastal theme, much more eclectic and varied, after a long dedication to the headlights
The book is organized in three geographical sections, West, Central and East and is accompanied by texts written by José Manuel Díaz, philologist and captain of the merchant navy, who has been working with Felix usually, since that first book of the series, entitled "Asturias Atlantic Coast," which began a long and productive cycle in 2014. This new book therefore includes a prologue, a brief introductory chapter to each of the three sections and a selection of quotes from some of the photographers who most admire Felix González.
