Manolo Villaverde will continue to head the Galician de Vela four more

After ten months completed since the beginning of the election period in the Galician Federations, the Real de Vela has not been alien to this long process of protection by the Xunta de Galicia.
Open the process, with its period of nomination, possible allegations and ratification by the maximum sports government in the Galician community, the Xeral Secretariat for or Sport confirmed the only validated proposal to chair the Royal Galician Federation of Vela for the next four years, responsibility that again falls on the figure of Manuel Villaverde.
At the age of 65, this birth-widower faces his third term, the first completed in his equator following the resignation in 2013 of the former president, José Ángel Rodríguez, when he took over the term of office in the Royal Spanish Vela Federation.
After this new assumption in office, Vilaverde reigns itself from a Board of Directors to which he gives continuity, with Viviana García of first vice president and treasurer; Pedro Piñeiro, second vice president; Ignacio Olcoz, secretary; and the vocals José Antonio Vilar, Pedro de Luaces, Ignacio Campos, Noemí Bermudez De Castro, José Manuel Paredes and José Luís Ranz.
The first orders of Villaverde, after assuming the new term of office, will be to shape the new official calendar of competition of 2023, as well as the organization of the Gala de la Vela, in February next year. In front of the great challenge of the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024, where Galicia will fight to have a wide representation, in a sport such as the sailing, that so many successes has always given Spain, part of those good results thanks to the Galician athletes, coaches and managers.
