The great favorite, was the crew that represented the centenary Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón that was winner in 2021, but that despite an excellent performance, had to be conformed with silver... its 7 points only came to him to match with the vines.
The African Alonso achieved three first and two seconds... while the Asterians with Raquel García to the cane also had an excellent set of scores: with three first and two seconds... but the one that Africa beat in the last and final manga gave the selected vigués the gold, by favoring the untida.
The third square of the podium was for the "A" team of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, with an exceptional patron, who has a very promising future in the Olympic candle: Stella Maris Enriquez. After winning in his group, he accumulated after the final three first, a second and a quarter. The Atlantic Sailing Club of the Great Port of Leixóes closed its first positions with a first, a second and three third. A very young crew that impacted, for its enormous quality.
The great surprise of this second edition of the Isabel Zendal, was that the launch crew of Code Zero with the Italian Simona Manfredini at the front, did not get into the final phase, in which two sleeves were held already at noon Sunday.
The worst part of the previous series, along with the canaries, was carried by the girls of the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña with Coca Quian, the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona de Hilda Martín and Natalia Domínguez, who led the candidacy of the Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo.
Now after the female crew race the next shipment of the Abanca Week... will be dedicated to the base sail also in the Coruñesa bay in memory of the unforgettable president of the Royal Nautic Club of La Coruña, Aurelio Fernández Lage: the Meeting of Optimist Gadis- Ciudad de La Coruña, with about two hundred young regatists, in competition.

2022-11-19: Abanda--Isabel Zendal GP Concello da Coruña: Gijón and Vigo candidates
Despite the unfavorable weather conditions prevailing on Saturday in the Coruñesa Bay: rain and loose and variable winds; the judges managed to save the day by accumulating three valid sleeves in Group A and five in the B, in the qualifying phase of the Isabel Zendal- Grand Prix Concelo da Coruña, which is being held by the Royal Herculino Nautical Club with the Organizing Committee of the Abanca Week.
For the second and decisive Sunday day, with the four best crews, they will leave the two best of each of the two groups. Qualifying sleeves that will still have their continuity in the Sunday, with the limit of 12.30 hours in which they must be closed. Then the final will be held at four, and already at five o'clock in the afternoon in the Pañol del Náutico de La Coruña, the award will be held and the corresponding closing.
After the competition on Saturday, the leader of Group A is the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo that has the cane of excellent patron Stella Martin Enriquez, which has accumulated two first and one second, and has practically one square in the great final. After the viguesa, the Vela de Leixóes Clube with the Lusitana María Puerta a la rea, with partials of 3-2-1 and very close to it Hilda Martín patron of the team of Mount Real Club de Yates de Baiona with 2-3-3. Close the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña with all rooms, and now practically without options. Theoretically Oporto and Baiona will play the second final sage.
In Group B, 5 sleeves were held and in the head is similar the situation of the A... with a Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón with Raquel García Monteaguada to the impeccable cane: three wins and two seconds in the five sleeves... which gives them the passport to be in the final, and thus try to revalidate their victory of 2021. After the Asterians the combination of Nautico de Vigo-Monte Real, which in the last hour replaced the Maritime of the Abra de Getxo with one of our best options for the future as is Africa Alonso, is ahead of the favorite ones a priori... that are not other than the launchers of the Club Sports Code Zero of Puerto Calero, with the Italian Simona Manfredini at the head: the gallegos accumulate 3-2-2-2-1-1-1 and the canaries 2-3-4-3... close up with a group of all three, and a group of three...

Javier Gandara the best Spanish ocean pattern of all time with Gallegos and Canarias (Photo Pedro Seoane)
On Saturday day he has been working on the development of the J80 used, which is considered the best Spanish pattern of ocean sailing of all time: Javier de la Gandara, who was pattern in the Fortuna (until then beating the 24-hour speed record in the monocasco of the World Tour) and in the Galicia 93 Pescanova (since he was third with this Wor60). The vineyard took place with the young regatists, who were surprised in not a few cases, for their presence in the pants of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña. Tomorrow from 9: 00 in the morning the activity will begin, of the second day.
2022-11-18: The Astur of Gijón the club to beat in the Regata Isabel Zendal- Week Abanca GP Concello da Coruña
The Abanca Week comes to La Coruña this weekend, with the Isabel Zendal Regata that has the Grand Prix Concello da Coruña in play, for female crews of five components (patron and four crew), with equal ships. Carris Marineda is the headquarters of all the crews, as it was last year, in the first edition.
The competition in J80 with the same development... and what is still so or more important: with the same sailing games designed and drawn in Vigo by the workshops of Velas Gandara, which were premiered in 2021 for the first edition of this event organized by the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña with the Organizing Committee of the Abanca Week, and which have been well collected in the diaper of the herculino club, since then.
There are eight crews, which will be divided after the draw that will take place at the foot of the dock in the nautical Coruñés at 9: 00 on Saturday morning, into two groups of four... who will try to complete an ambitious six-sleeves program per group. The first two of each of the groups will be classified from there, and the four who will be able to do so will be in the big final on Sunday, which will theoretically have five sleeves.
The organizers have appointed as the director of the race, the technical director of the herculino club: Chuco Pérez Lafuente, who will have a complete picture of professionals of judges, jurors and bearers... case of the Ferrolians Alfredo Fernández Soto and Pedro Fernández Alarcón; the compost-Roman Miguel Cons, or the Herculan José Antonio Casal.
In the section of tribado of the ships, a regatist of authentic luxury: the legendary pattern of the Galicia 93 Pescanova and the Fortuna in the Regata Vuelta al Mundo: the vigués Javier de la Gandara.
A priori the crew to beat will be the one that represents the centenary Asian club of the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón, which is the one that has in its possession the scepter of winner in the first edition held last year. In the cane will be an excellent patron, as is Raquel García; completing her team Carmen Simal, Covadonga Fernández, Carmen Ayuela and Marta Durán.
They leave as great favorites, along with the experienced Puerto Calero-based launchers Simona Manfredini. This team was fourth in the Spanish Championship, but it must be noted that it was cut off by an orange alert on its own day, which harmed them. Another fact that shows its potential, with girls who are competing in the J80 Series of Canaries, in which they appear on the top of the general (on the edge of the podium), and that which they face male or mixed crews.
Also another of the a priori crews that must be above, in the case of those of Portugal that represent the first Lusian club of light and Olympic sailing: the Atlantic Sailing Club of Leixóes (Matosinhos- Gran Porto), which have as a cane Marta Puerta Guedes.
By Galicia you will be in regatta your younger promises, which will defend the colors of Mount Real Club de Yates de Baiona, Real Club Nautico de Vigo, Real Club Nautico de Sanxenxo and Real Club Nautico de La Coruña.
The host, the herculino nautical, presents a crew with the possibility of giving the bell with Coca Qian Delgado, who is the coach of the 420 fleet of the Club... and who will sail with a young crew composed of Marta Torres, Paloma Martínez de la Riva, Soledad Mallo and Barbara González del Castillo. They are four of the great promises of the candle of northern Galicia.
The clubs in the south present are not left behind in potential... for example the Mount Real Club of Yates has the expert Hilda Martín. Daniela Mariño for the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo... or one of the most future regatists such as Africa Beatriz Alonso, which was part of the Team of Spain Junior in 420 in European or World championships will be in another of the Vigo teams as a cane.
Finally by the Royal Nautical Club of Sanxenxo Alejandro Peleteiro, number 1 of the female ranking of ILCA 6 will compete, along with Natalia Dominguez, and a powerful crew.
High-level quote for our future elite candle, which fits perfectly in the bet of Abanca and its Week to empower the younger values of the Galician and Spanish candle in general.
