Port Ginesta, the largest marina in Spain with an area of 60,000 square meters with and with 150 exhibitors dedicated to trade and industry, has hosted for the fifth consecutive year the latest sea tests of the prestigious European Yacht of the Year award, before announcing the final winner.

For four days, the 12 journalists from specialized magazines from all over Europe, who form the jury, as well as representatives of the 16 nominees to the six categories in which the prize is divided, have been in Port Ginesta to test the boats nominated for the Yacht Magazine award.

The tests in Port Ginesta are the last step before announcing the winners on January 21 at the opening ceremony of the Düsseldorf Nautical Hall. It is the culmination of a process that begins with 60 candidates at the beginning of the year and that, after multiple navigation tests, the 16 nominees are decided first and the four winners later.

Port Ginesta, by its characteristics, is the ideal place to host events of this kind. The sports marina is located just 10 minutes from Barcelona airport and has a unique natural environment for navigation. This year is the fifth consecutive year in which Port Ginesta is chosen as the test base for the competition.
