The Spanish pre-Olympic in Paris 2024 Tomás Vieito, thirteen times Spanish champion, who competes for the Real Club Náutico Rodeira de Cangas has proclaimed himself the absolute winner of the Abanca- Windsurf Week Grand Prix Recession of Pontevedra, which with the Iberian Championship vitola organized the Marinetea and Vigo Maritime Club with the support of the Federations of Spain and Portugal, in the Rade Field (eastern part of the viguesa), based on the former military facilities of the ETEA.

The windsurfers were very mature, as judges Carlos Sardiña and Pedro Fernández Calderón cited them to start competing at 9: 00 in the morning!... which caused everyone to stand at 7: 00 and in the water shortly after 8: 00. The trenches had hopes based on the part that there would be wind in the first hour of the morning, but even when they were right... not enough, because the wind was constantly coming down, trying to even start at ten, but the sleeve had to be cancelled, after giving the first exit.

As the watches marked three o'clock in the afternoon, the wind appeared in the river (8 to 10 knots from the west), and miraculously two sleeves were completed... also with good temperature and sun, that if the windsurfers of Formula Fin (fin) were left with the desire, because they could not complete their first sleeve because the wind fell. Therefore the Xunta Trophy of Galicia was left deserted on this occasion.

In the General of Formula Foil, victory therefore of Tomás Vieito with three first in three sleeves, followed by his brother Juan Vieito with partials of 5-2-2, third Ignacio Fernández with 3-3-3, fourth the Orensano Nicolás Blanco of the Castrelo Nautico Club of Miño with 6-4-4 and fifth the Moañés Lucas Maceiras with 4-5-6. By the way, the Cangas got four of them into the top ten... because White was avoiding the total flake with his room.

The former world windsurfing champion, currently preparing for the Spanish Olympic Team, Marcos Fernández, achieved the seventh place, his best place being a second partial. It also raised the Coruñés windsurfer, from Catro Vento, who with a seventh in the third manga got into the top ten.

Now the Abanca Week is heading for the River of Betanzos in the north of Galicia, where next weekend will be held the Vila de Cabanas Grand Prix Divine Rei, in which they have already confirmed more than 30 cruises with two hundred crew members their presence, making it the most important heavy sailing event in the north of Galicia.

The program is completed by two more events in La Coruña: the Isabel Zendal- Grand Prix Cidade da Coruña, in which women's crews from all over the Cantábrico, Galicia and Canarias will compete, and the Meeting Gadis de Optimist, which is held with two hundred young regatists in memory of one of the great workers of the Galician candle that left us a few years ago and remains in the memory of all the Galician fans in the sailing: the president of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña and the maximum exponent of the Regla Grande de Velina, in the city of the city of La Velina.

For the second day of Sunday very morning, with the beginning of nine in the morning and the intention of the judges who run the Coruñés Carlos Sardiña and the Ferrolano Pedro Fernández Alarcón, to achieve the program of closure, with four valid sleeves.

The wind was made to beg, with moments when it blew with a certain intensity of the south... a speed that however did not lift the minimum required by regulation. Since everything seemed predestined to leave the day blank, the technicians decided to go more towards the area of ria, which houses the Viguese city and they hit a wind of 8 knots from the west, which was enough to inaugurate the markers... but only in Formula Foil, because in Formula Fin, which competes in the Xunta Trophy of Galicia, no one completed the route in the 30 regulatory minutes, which was the limit limit.

In Foil that has at stake the Trophy Recession of Pontevedra following the component of the Spanish PreOlympic Team, Tomás Vieito... four companions of the Real Club Náutico Rodeira de Cangas were classified and were also the only ones who entered before the door of time was closed... by this order; the coach of the Olympic Team of the Royal Spanish Federation of Sailing and former world champion of Windsurf Marcos Fernández that is placed on provisional podium, along with one of the best Spanish windsurfers, Ignacio García, who is third for the moment.

In the fourth and fifth squares are located for the moment: Lucas Maceiras and Juan Vieito, who were saved from the burning of the control closure. Given that if three more sleeves were held on Sunday and that each sportsman would eliminate the worst score harvested... you can say that the back is high, and that the results of this single sleeves on Saturday could be even non-decisive at the end.
