The meeting of the International Vigo Cidade of Optimist, which this weekend of the All Saints Bridge will put the colofon to Atlantic Week 2022, promises a lot of war by the regatta team of the Royal Vigo Nautical Club.

This weekend the Trofeu Cidade de Viana do Castelo, the first of two Optimist tests that determine the winner of the Atlantic Week Challenge, was held in Portugal, and the Viguese Nautical shone. The Viguese fleet placed Paco Riveras and Alejandro Alonso as the first and second of Division B, after four contested races, two of them, on Saturday, under the cover of the Limia River. In Viana do Castelo, with 150 ships in the water, the Portuguese Joao Rosa (CN Funchal) would win the general, with Riveras and Alonso sixth and ninth, respectively. However, the award system established victors by divisions, A and B, both male and female. Thus, Riveras and Alonso took the podium of Division B, with Vicente Costa (CN Portimao), third. The lusos dominated the male (Rosa) and female classifications (Mariana Pinto, CN Portimao) in Division A, and also the female Division B (Laura Leiria, CN Cascais), in which another villain, Alma Chamorro, fell into the third place in the drawer. Riveras, with a series that began with triumph in the first manga (1-5-13-13), totaled 32 points, two less than Alonso (7-7-3-17), which signed 34. Fernando González del Castillo (RCN Coruña) was the best Galician in the world (2-19-6-3, 30 points), but only served to be fourth in Division A, outside the medals.

The excellent results of the Vigo fleet give you a plus advantage for the Meeting Cidade de Vigo that is held on the bridge of All Saints, in which the Nautico will be measured to Portuguese regatists, as well as to Swedes, Latvian, Finnish and optimistic from other areas of the Peninsula.
