The first edition of the Iberdrola League of Women's Vela has been resolved with the absolute victory of the Dorsia Covirán Sailing Team. The team led by Nuria Sánchez has confirmed the first position in the general classification of the circuit by imposing itself on the last four dates of the season. 2022-10-22: Dorsia Coviran with Dufresne to the queen cane in the waters of Baiona

From noon, when the tests were scheduled to begin, until almost five and ten in the afternoon, when the first and only race of the day could finally be released, the crews remained on the ground watching Beatrice, the low pressure system that came to Galicia after the passage of the Brisca Armand, bring with it a maritime temporal.

This was how the participating crews, from the Canary Islands, the Basque Country, the Valencia Community and Galicia, were held, competing in fleet and real time, two tests of the type barlovent sotavento between buoys.

The winner of both was the Dorsia Coviran Sailing Team, the ship armed by Nuria Sánchez and led by the Olympic Natalia Vía- Dufresne running for the Burriananova Navy (Castellón).

In the first manga, while the rest of the crews remained more or less together throughout the navigation, the J80 of the Valencians was always in the head, at a distance, marking power, and was the first to cross the line of arrival. The second and third place was occupied by the ship of the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante, led by Berta Campos; and the canary Code Zero, by Simona Manfredini.

In the second and last race of the day the victory was also for the Dorsia, but the team did not have it so easy and had to fight more for the success for the good performance of the Cantabre Zona Norte de María Sánchez (RCM Santander), which finished second; and of the Alicantino team, which finished third. The final of the Women's League of Vela that is being held these days in Baiona is organized by the Monte Real Club of Yates by delegation of the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela. The tests, which are part of the Iberdrola Circuit of Women's Vela, are held thanks to the sponsorship of the Isonor Group and the collaboration of the Xunta de Galicia, the Diputación de Pontevedra, the municipality of Baiona and the Royal Galician Federation of Vela. 2022-10-19: Finishes the Women's Sailing League in Baiona waters

The closure of the national circuit sponsored by Iberdrola coincides with the last race of the Isonor women's league of the MRCY. The Iberdrola League of Women's Vela started in May at the International Women Cup of the Royal Maritime Club of Abra, continued in July at the Tembra Trophy of the Real Club of Regatas of Alicante and had its third stop at the Copa del Rey Mapfre of the Real Club Nautico of Palma

The first edition of the Iberdrola League of Women's Sailing will end this weekend at the Monte Real Club de Yates in Baiona. Seven teams, all of which are manned by women, will participate in the fourth and final test of this circuit and with all the races played on single-type J80 vessels.

Twenty teams have participated in the various races that make up the Iberdrola League of Women's Sailing. After the first three citations the Dorsia Covirán leads the general classification, with the Decoexsa in second position and the Biobizz Women in third provisional position.
