In the framework of the International Nautical Salon in Barcelona, the presentation of the XXXV edition of La Ruta de la Sal, which will be held from 6 to 9 April 2023, coinciding, as is a tradition, with the Holy Week, took place at the Duchess Hotel in Cardona.
The two traditional exits from Port Ginesta in Barcelona and from the Royal Nautical Club in Denia, as well as the common destination in Sant Antoni de Portmany on the island of Ibiza, are maintained.
On the part of the Consell d'Eivissa, an entity with a long history of support for the race, Juan Miguel Costa, the island director of tourism, intervened. Previously, Eduard Torres, CEO of the Duchess Hotel in Cardona and president of Turisme in Barcelona, had opened the event as host.
Josep Tur, president of Club Nàutic Sant Antoni de Portmany spoke on behalf of the entity that hosts the large fleet of ships that make up La Ruta de la Sal, while Salvador Alcover, general director of Garmin Iberia did the same on behalf of the sponsoring companies that support this race.
José Ramón Martín Marí, 2nd lieutenant mayor and sports regator of the City of Sant Antoni de Portmany, was also present at the event. In the last edition of 2022 there was a great communion between the inhabitants of Sant Antoni and the regatists, united in a busy feast on the beach. The success of the trophy ceremony and the closing party of the 2023 edition is guaranteed by the municipality's commitment to La Ruta de la Sal and its important social dimension.
