Tomorrow it officially starts the tenth edition of the International Media Awards Mare Nostrum Awards, promoted as each year by the Grimaldi Revista Mare Nostrum of the Grimaldi Group.

The Contest provides for the final allocation of five prizes of ten thousand euros each, with a total value of 50,000 euros. The awards will be awarded by the International Jury, composed of prominent journalists and chaired by Italian journalist Bruno Vespa.

To celebrate the important milestone of the fifteenth anniversary, the basis of the competition provides for the expansion of the thematic areas and the cultural purposes of the competition, in line with the evolution of global maritime transport and the environmental sensitivity that for the Grimaldi Group is a fundamental value.

The health of the marine ecosystem is the new theme that the work will be able to develop, along with the traditional themes of the past editions: the motorways of the Sea as a sustainable alternative to the transport of goods by road and the Mediterranean Sea as a way of communication between the peoples and place par excellence of cultural and tourist exchange.

The work will thus be able to focus on the many advantages of maritime transport, when it is carried out with modern and safe ships, which operate in full respect of the marine ecosystem. The advantages can be analysed not only from an economic point of view, but also from an environmental, cultural and social point of view.

Journalists, photographers, videomaker and, in general, authors resident in Europe will be admitted to the Prize. The articles should develop one of the topics envisaged in the thematic areas and should be published between 15 October 2022 and 15 April 2023 in Italian, English, Spanish, Catalan, French and Greek, in the following types of media: newspapers and magazines (offline and online), national media specialized in transport and tourism (offline and online), press agencies, national and local radio and television stations, photo magazines and photographic exhibitions, travel blogs and tourism.

Documents should be sent to the Secretariat of the Prize by 30 April 2023 with a letter of submission, both in digital format (word file) by e-mail to mna @ grimaldi.napol.it, and in original format.

To facilitate the direct experience of navigation and the acquisition of information, those who wish to do so can make a return trip before 31 March 2023 on board the ships Grimaldi Lines, Minoan Lines and Trasmed GLE in service between Italy, Spain and Greece, upon request to the Organizing Secretariat of the Prize.
