The Dufour 34 Deep Blue 2.1 with Vicente Cid to the cane, from the fleet of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, was proclaimed the absolute winner of the XVIII Vila Trophy of Bouzas- Concello de Vigo, fifth act of the Abanca Week and first dedicated to heavy sailing.

The Viguese ship, which is a regular in the high-flight competitions of the Atlantic zone, achieved a victory as meritorious as it was worked... in a race that achieved the barrier of half a hundred ships, which for the time being is the second event in the north and north-west in participation, following the Prince of Asturias Trophy organized by Monte Real de Baiona and Escuela Naval de Marín.

The vicedecan of the Galician nautical founded in 1907, has been put on its own merits in the chosen group that has managed to put on its mark half a hundred ships, in a year in which only Baiona had achieved it. The president of the boucense club, who was Olympic rowing in Barcelona 92, Miguel Pereira, has already set a goal: to reach 60 in 2023.

At the front of the fleet always Oils April that seemed to have managed to escape from the fleet, which was commanded by Magical de Julio Rodríguez... but as always happens in these cases... when the wind rose to 8 or 10 knots in the north-east, it favoured the group in the back... that began to catch speed, seeing the head as its work was going to be stuck. Among those of the largest length, the 40 feet of the Naval School was saved with a reed of illustrious name in the candle of the Spanish Navy: Ignacio Ituri, who with the Aldan, achieved the silver prize, after the gold of the Deep Blue 2.1

The bronze in ORC was achieved for the smallest of the head group, for the Ay Carmela of Juan Pazón, which led to the cane by Lalia Mohmund Saleh... after the trio of head was the veteran Luis García Trigo with the Unus (one of the best cruises - regata of the Atlantic zone), which was patrolling René García, the fifth being the great favorite Oils April, completing the top ten among the cruises: Magic, Smaku of Alfonso Rodríguez, Jandro8 of Roberto Rebodo and the Sprit of Alvarez, David.

For his part in A2, Salano Dos was the winner with Jacobo Vecino a la rea, followed by Secoilte (Francisco Javier Rey and Jorge Javier Justo and Bonaventure (José Luis Ríos Acrias and María Jesús Montes Alonso).

In three crew members completed in time the 16 miles only two ships: the Herculine Petrilla of Jaime Barreiro of the Marina Coruña Nautico Club and the fleet of the Real Club Nautico Rodeira Edge of José Alejandro Martínez. After the historic achievement in Bouzas, The Abanca Week in the next event is celebrated in the Ria de Pontevedra, in the Villa de Marín with a reference rowing competition: the Galicia Concello de Marín Cup, in which will take place the last three events of the 2022 edition: the Trophy Vila de Cabanas de Croceros de la ETEA, where the Championship of Spain and Portugal of Windsurfing will be held, from there will take place.

Yesterday there was still work to reach the figure of 50 ships, which was already very close... since the number 47 was already reached, with the inscription of the Pibo of Arturo Vázquez Barbosa; and everything made the thought that the figure of half a hundred will be reached. At one on the afternoon of Saturday it will begin in the regatta field of the Cis Islands, organized by the videcano of the Galician nautical by the Maritime Liceo, the Trophy Vila de Bouzas- Concello de Vigo, which is one of the two events of the Abanca Week as far as the cruise is concerned.

The Viguese citation will be that of the southern Galician, while the north is already committed to the Cabanas Nautical Club that currently brings together the most pomegranate of the heavy Galician candle of the province of Coruñesa.

The Vila de Cabanas, which will be supported by its town hall, will be held in the waters of the river of Betanzos on the five and six days of next November. The Abanca Week after the first cruise competition this weekend, will go to the river of Pontevedra, where will be held the Galicia Concello de Marín Cup, which has the record of female participation in a national rowing competition: more than 300 girls in 2018.

After the rowing test and before setting a course for La Coruña, the Abanca Week will have a new test in the Rande race field, based on the ETEA: the Iberian Windsurfing Championship (Formula and Foil) by the Vigo and Marinetea Maritime Club, with the support of the Federations of Galicia, Spain and Portugal.

The Abanca Week is resumed on Saturday by the vicedecan of the Galician nautical, the Bouzas Maritime Liceo. On Saturday, the cruises break into the race field of the Cis Islands with the legendary Vila de Bouzas in play, the third act of the Vigo Concello Trophy and the fifth of the Abanca Week, which completes its first stage in the Viguese era with an event that also has the incentive to have the rank of Iberian Championship of reduced crews (for two and three crew members).

The great novelty of the quote, which will pay tribute to one of the most emblematic presidents of the centenary history of the Liceo... to Antonio Diego. President in a first stage between 1964 and 1979, in which he managed to carry out the construction of the splendid social building... in which his great friendship with which he would become president of the International Olympic Committee, Juan Antonio Samaranch, was fundamental.

It is the fact that both ships arrive very equal in their particular fight, and the one that wins in Bouzas, will be the best ship of the first-level race season in the west of the Iberian Peninsula.

In particular, the great work of the navigator of Cangas Lucas Alvarez, who has managed to bring together in the category Nautical Concentration twenty cruises with units as marked as the Menudeta, Arroutado, Sabela, Toya, Duende or Eider, to give examples.

In ORC, in addition to the aforementioned April and Magic, the Aldan of the Spanish Navy, based at the Military Naval School, will compete the two ships of Mount Real Club of YatesSprit de mer and the Unus... as well as the Jandrocho, Deep Blue 2.1... as well as Ay Carmela and the Smaku in which Alfonso Rodríguez will compete as a master, and will have a crew of the staff of the Bouzas Maritime Liceum.
