First Polishing Medal in the New Olympic Class

Slow deferral and steel nerve races in the last day of the European Championship of Formula Kite, in which the Spanish Gisela Pulido has been raised with continental bronze and Spain is second by country after France.

With the French Nolot and Kampman in the final for their results in the Final Series, the Women's Semifinal A was resolved to a single race with victory for the Israeli Gal Zukerman, who left with two so many advantage for her third place in the Final Series.

Things were different in Semifinal B, in which the Spanish Gisela Pulido left with two victories of advantage and the Polish Izabela Satrjan with one.

The French Poema Newland scored the first and started a second unfit test for heart disease. Pulido started well and was made with the head of the fleet, but a failure of manoeuvre almost gave it in the water in the first stretch, a transpiés that the Spanish was able to solve quickly again to take over the race. But in the last stretch, Newland crossed the Spanish path that could not prevent his comets from getting hooked.

The situation led to victory for Polish Satrjan and Polido's protest against Newland. The Jury was right about the Spanish and disqualified the French. In a third confrontation, with a strong mark between Newland and Polido, the French crossed the line of arrival first, but a new protest between them was resolved with DSQ for Newland and passed to the Polido final.

With two starting wins in its scoreboard, the French Lauriane Nolot stood in the final and reached European gold after a hard fight with Gisela Pulido, who, despite her second place in the final race, saw the gala Jessie Kampman go up to the second podium drawer thanks to her victory for positions in the final series. The Spanish closed the winning podium of this European conflict and rose with second place per country, with the view already set at the next World Championship.

As far as the male fleet is concerned, it was the Italian Riccardo Pianosi and the French Benoit Gomez, who in the Final faced the Singaporean Maximilian Maeder and the Slovenian Toni Vodisek. Maeder, only 16 years old, was in the first race to rise with the final victory in the championship for the second consecutive year, although the European title was for the Toni Vodisek. The best Spanish in the male category has been Alejandro Citation, 16th European and 20th in the general classification.

In this regard, Antonio Mínguez, coach of the national women's team, said that "the European goal is to be in Top5. In the training program we have prioritized the world and in these months we have made many material changes; we have not been able to test the level of the regatists, but the sensations are good in general."

With regard to Gisela Polido, the current number 1 of the International Ranking, Minguez highlights its technical progress in a wide range of conditions: "Gisela reaches the European much higher than it has had so far. Before their conditions were very marked, but at the moment their navigation is quite complete. A priori may favour the strong wind and the minced sea, but if we have little wind and flat sea it also has to be in the first group of the table."

The weather point to a strong wind for this week, in a regatta field without great complications in which the Formula Kite 2022 European Championship will be held from tomorrow Tuesday.
