Interesting approach of the Ibiza Forum for the first week of November
The fourth edition of the Marine Forum will be held on Thursday, 3 and Friday, 4 November this year, at the Cultural Center of Jesus, as is common in previous editions. Two days in which climate change, marine reserves in 2030, sustainable tourism, the blue economy or the protection of posidonia will be the protagonists in the presentations and interventions of the more than 30 international, national and local experts who will intervene.
Another major issue is the need to protect 30% of our Sea by 2030. A network of marine protected areas covering 30% of the Balear Sea is considered necessary from the Marine Forum. The intention is to analyse the pros and cons, studying examples that are already being carried out in other parts of the world and that are achieving success for the recovery of these seas, for the recovery of biodiversity in those areas and for the generation of a blue economy that benefits the societies that benefit from these actions.
In this edition from the Forum we want to recognize the work that from the Consell de Formentera and from the municipality of Eivissa is done, both with the protection and with the dissemination of the importance of the Posidonia for the health of the Mediterranean. This year it is 5 years of the Save Posidonia Project of Formentera and 6 years of the implementation of the Viu la Posidònia program and the Team Promotor wants to thank the commitment of both administrations to this plant and to the meadow that is located between the two islands and that is recognized as World Heritage.
Sustainable Tourism will also be discussed by explaining success stories. Blue economy from a broad perspective both from the point of view of financing and from companies that are recovering discarded materials and making them raw materials, and from the vision of experts studying the feasibility of this sustainable change for the economy.
