The Hosie 16 Worlds are recognized by the headquarters where they have been organized in the past, all of them easily identified as Paradise tourist destinations, such as Fiji, Riviera Maia and Huatulco in Mexico, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Hawaii, Virgin Islands, Florida and Texas in the US, Jervis Bay in Australia or Dapeng and Weihai in China
A total of 228 crews, with 456 regatists, from 23 countries on 6 continents participate from Wednesday, September 14 and until September 29 in the world catamaran championship Hobie 16 Worlds Costa Brava.
The Hobie 16 Worlds are organized by the International Hobie Cat Association, the Club de Vela La Ballena Alegre, the Club Náutico L'Calo and the Real Federación Española de Vela, in collaboration with the Federación Catalana de Vela and the National Secretariat of the Catamaran Class (ADETA).
After 37 years and 22 editions held in beautiful tourist destinations around the world, the twenty-third occasion on which the Hosie 16 Worlds confirms the Costa Brava as a world-class sailing destination.
In its twenty-two previous editions, it has only been through Europe twice, in the New Zealand town of Scheveningen and last time in Sotogrande, more than 24 years ago. Here's the program:
