They overcame the Vissi of Juan Llano and the Katxoka of Gonzalo Diaz@-@ Munio, who completed the podium. On the uncertified ships, the winner was Rainer Miller's Kosamui.

The Copa Castro by Centro Porsche Bilbao began in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra on a typical summer day in the Cantábrico, with the north-east wind of 13 and 14 knots and the exit at 1.15 hours for the cruises and five minutes later for the J80 monotypes. After a beautiful start at the height of La Galea, the 32 registered ships took their way to Castro to complete the 15 miles according to the route proposed by the race committee.
Once the classifications have been established after the compensated times, the Yamamay cantabre by Javier Gallo, a First 40.7 that has won this test on 13 occasions, leads class A ahead of the vizcayos of the Gaitero of Juan Valdivia and the Rat Pack of Javier-varri. In the final part of this summer the historic Copa Castro by Centro Porsche Bilbao, the race that links the Vizcaine town of Getxo with the cantabra of Castro Urdiales, returns. It returns these next 10 and 11 September and is 115 years old with about 30 sailing boats that will face two tests in one of the classic sailing competitions in the Cantabrian Sea. A large part of the most prominent ships of the Vizcana and Cantabra fleets will be at the exit of a race in which the ships are divided into the Cruise and J80 classes. All of them in search of the beautiful Castro Cup, in a sailing championship that was run there by far 1907 and whose trophy is one of the most desired by the crews in this final part of the 2022 calendar.
