Baleares just winner in the Regata de la Mujer de Vilagarcía
The Royal Galician Federation of Vela put this Sunday point and end to the Women's Regatta 2022 with the dispute of the last tests in the Arousa Ria. The shooting crew, which faced the final day in the first position, held the pressure of their rivals and managed to revalidate the title of the last edition. From behind, great performance of the Galician, who managed to ascend one more post to proclaim themselves subchampions of the date.
Unlike in the previous days, the wind was made to wait in the river of Arousa for the final day. The Committee went out into the water on time but found no conditions until 14: 00, when at last a south-west component wind of between seven and ten knots of intensity allowed the fleet to complete two of the four tests scheduled for Sunday. In total, ten sleeves accumulated in the locker of the six teams that fought to the end for the title of the Women's Regatta 2022.
The crew of the Balear Federation of Vela, which began leading from the first day, did not give in and added a second and a first. With these results the team led by María Perelló, world champion of 420, revalidates for Baleares the title of Champions of the Regata de la Mujer and is also made with the triumph of the Trophy Juan Sebastián Elcano.
On the back, Canarias and Galicia had access to the final day tied to points in the second and third position respectively. Both teams knew they had to give their 100% in the last tests to get the subchampionship, and after a hard hand-to-hand all weekend it was finally the regatists of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo that managed to get on the second podium drawer.
So, with a first and a second in the last two sleeves, the crew commanded by Stella Enríquez managed to take a three-point approach to Patricia María Medina's canary team, which ended in the third place of the general with a quarter and a third scored on Sunday.
2022-09-10: Women's Regatta... in the absence of an undecided day at Arousa Bay

Sunday, third and last day of race in the river of Arousa with the first three teams separated by only four points
Second day of the Final Phase of the Women's Regatta, a test organized by the Royal Galician Federation of Vela and in which the shooting team - defender of the title of the past edition - continues to lead a very tight general in which Galician and Canary Islands keep their options open.
The day was resolved with four more completed tests that allow the fleet to accumulate eight partials in its locker in the absence of a single day to finish the race.
If on Friday it was the baleares that dominated the start of the competition, on this occasion the Gallegos tightened to the maximum and managed to seal their best day with two first, a second and a third in their locker. With these results, Stella Enríquez's team cuts points in the general, and although it continues in the third position it is able to tie with the canaries, which are again second with three quarters and one first.
In front of the Galician and the canary team that patrons Patricia María Medina, the leader continues in the hands of the Balear Federation. On Saturday, those of Maria Perelló resisted the pressure of their rivals and signed some 3-2-2-1 partials, with which they managed to defend the first step of the provisional podium with four points of advantage.
With the first two days of competition completed, the fleet is already preparing to face the last four tests on Sunday to define the podium of the Women's Regatta 2022. A podium that certainly couldn't be tighter.
If the forecasts are met, the race will start at 12: 00 and will be at 17: 30 when the final brooch is put on with the delivery of trophies at the Galego de Vela Center in Vilagarcía.

It began in the waters of the river of Arousa, the final phase of the Regata de la Mujer organized by the Royal Galician Federation of Vela... in which six teams representing the federations of Catalonia, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Asturias, Galicia... as well as Portugal are competing.
The baleares sent by Maria Perelló were the first to add a partial victory in his locker... they did so by exercising full authority from the beginning of the manga and repeated in the second test, showing another year their potential on board the Elliot 6M.
So, after the first two positions scored and with a quarter and a second in the last two tests of the day, the Maria Perelló's closed the first day of the Women's Regata by premiering leadership ahead of the crew of the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria, which is located second.
With three seconds and a partial victory in the last test of the day, the canary team, which has Patricia María Medina in the cane, begins the appointment at only one point of the first, so there is no doubt that everything can happen.
Behind the baleares and the canaries is the Galician team, which defends the grympola of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo with a crew formed by Stella Enríquez, Daniel Mariño, María Núñez and Rosalía García.
With a total of four third places sealed on this first day of competition, the Enríquez ones close the provisional podium to four and five points of the canaries and the baleares respectively, and with one advantage over the classified quarters.
