Antía and Diego celebrating the success

The Spanish Olympic sprint selection ended the season with the Junior World Cup and Sub 23 in the Hungarian town of Szeged. The large delegation has well realized the high level of Spanish pyragüism, as they have competed in more than twenty finals to fight for metals.

Spain again stood out in canoe, where the Dominguez, Noel and Diego brothers won the silver medal in the C2 500 and the bronze in the C2 1000. The 'Domingueta' walks fast through the water showing that they are at a time of great growth after finishing fourth in the C2 1000 of the absolute World Cup disputed in Canada.

Antala Jácome, a recent gold medal in the last absolute European, won the World Cup Sub- 23 in the C1 200. The Olympic athlete has overcome the physical problems that kept her away from the water at the beginning of the season and ends the year as the world's youngest queen. Jácome and the small Dominguez have hung the gold in the C2 500 Joint in a very tight finish, in which they have imposed by centimeters on the ships of Hungary and Canada.

The C4 500 of Tano García, Martín Jácome, Manuel Fontán and David Barreiro rose to the top of the podium after mastering their final with much power. Daniel Grijalba, for his part, obtained the silver medal at the C1 500 after a final sprint that was decided for less than a second.

Noel Dominguez won his third medal in the afternoon shift after winning the silver medal in the C1 5000 Sub- 23.

Kayakista Marcos Caballero was the main protagonist of the Spanish team after achieving two metals: gold in the K1 5000 with a perfect race, silver in the K1 1000 Junior and bronze in the K1 500. A well-deserved award for the season he has performed at the national and international levels.

The result could be better for our delegation, as, apart from the eight metals, the selection has added a dozen seats in the finals of the World Cup. With these results, Spain closes a historic season for national pyragüism, with record medals in the absolute World and European.

The national Olympic Slalom team closed the international season with three medals in the World Cup at La Seu D'Urgell. It is the best result of the season for our selection in a World Cup.

Miquel Través lured us all with a perfect downfall, except for a slight touch at door 22 that relegated him to the second square for just + 0.09. The canoist's sensations were very good all weekend and were confirmed with this silver medal. After the bronze obtained in Liptovsky Mikulas, Travé continues to improve at a speed of steps to dream big in next seasons.

Ainhoa Lameiro competed in the female final, getting a seventh place very meritorious. In the Extreme category, Olatz Arregui won the bronze medal in a very competitive final, behind the British, Mallory Franklin, and the German, Elena Lilik.

Manu Ochoa went up to the second podium drawer, getting the third medal for Spain, after a very physical career in which there was a lot of equality. Worse luck David Llorente ran, who was affected by a shock that prevented him from carrying out the tour correctly.
