Organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas de Gijón, took place in the waters of the Bay of San Lorenzo, the thirty-second edition of the Regata Villa de Gijón de Crucideros, the dean of the regatas held in Asturias (*)

Two barlovent- a three-round sotavent tours were held for the entire fleet. On the first day the wind blew from the North component, the intensity would reach up to 11 knots and the sea as a dish, in one of the best days of summer. On Sunday the wind rolled to the Northeast, the usual in San Lorenzo Bay, the sea conditions and the weather as well as Saturday were excellent.

In class I, the Bullbox, by Luis Noguera, with Sebastiano Napoli to the cane again demonstrated the good way in which they are beating with slack in the two sleeves of disputes, a triumph that would lead him to be the absolute winner of the XXXII edition of the race. The second position on the table was obtained by the Taxus Medio Ambiente, by Alfredo Flórez, with José Rabano at the wheel. The Kaiser of Alvaro Alegría with a quarter and a third closed the honours in this class.

The Jarr, of Luis Llano was the first in the two races of class II conquering the Trophy in this group, while, in class III, the Ita II, patronized by Pedro Guerra also with two victories was awarded the triumph.

(*) The idea of holding a cruise race in Asturian waters every year called the Trophy Villa de Gijón was the idea of the Digital Nautical editor in the late 1980s, in a meeting with Victor Montero in the Port of Santa Maria, during the celebration of the Nautical Week. To the question what name do we give him?, the answer was clear from Manolo Seoane: Villa de Gijón, as the splendid sniping races were called when the Grand Félix Gancedo, with his Great Numa... or sometimes Cholo Marina with his Chuvias... in which I Villa de Gijón participated the Sirius of the Spanish Navy, for the support of Admiral Marcial Sánchez Barcaiztegui. This weekend will take place in the waters of San Lorenzo Bay, the XXXII Regata Villa de Gijón de Cruises - El Comercio Trophy. The test is organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas, with the sponsorship of the newspaper, El Comercio.

The absolute winner in the last edition was the BullBox, by Luis Noguera who would in turn win class I, while, the Wanted, by Ricardo Simal was the best in class II and the Leonidas, by Juan Manuel Quevedo won in class III.
