The swan duel ended on the side of the Swan 42 Cs Magic (Julio Rodríguez, RCN Vigo), who was able to defend his leadership and rose with the triumph in the 59th Rías Baixas Xacobeo Regata 2022, with second place the Oils Abril (Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal).

The Magical (Julio Rodríguez, RCN Vigo) is the new leader of the general classification ORC 0-3, and also of Class 1-2, after a day, the fourth of this 59th Regata Rías Baixas Xacobeo 2022, complicated by the gaping when crossing the Costa da Vela... from which the two Swan of the fleet (that of Rodríguez and that of the brothers Pérez Canal) and the Gs 46 S Solventis of José Lis finally managed to leave.

ORC 4-5 and Open. The Hullmaxx of Chisco Catalán (MRCY Baiona) signed its first stage win in compensation in the Open Class, with the J80 Pazo de Cea (Cristina González de Cominges, MRCY Baiona) in second place. The shortest stage, A Pobra-A Pobra, of the five that make up the 59 Rías Baixas Xacobeo Regata 2022, organized by the Real Nautical Club of Vigo with the sponsorship of the Xacobeo through the Xacobeo, has returned to the Sailway Academy (Ramón Ojea, Marítimo de Canido) the lead of the general classification of the ships of competition (ORC 1 to 3), as it happened in the first day.

For the second day in a row, the Oils April (Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal, RCN Vigo) was imposed in real time in the 15.1 miles disputed (2: 06.22), after a wind exit from the southwest and about 10 knots. The Swan 45 with the grimpola viguesa was put very soon ahead, first passed each beacon and led the usual group with the Swan 42 Magical (Julio Rodríguez, RCN Vigo), on the third day of brutal marking made by both units, the Arroutado (José Manuel Pérez, RCN Portosín), the Solventis (José Lis, MRCY Baiona) and the Maitena (Mikel Emaldi, Maritimo del Abra), the main exponent of the Basque fleet in the Rías.

The fleet sailed a shorter route (11.3 miles). He won the Maracaná (Carlos García, Marítimo de Panxón) in real and compensated and in Class 4 there is new change of leader: first Balea Dous (Luis María Pérez, RCN Rodeira), followed by the Deep Blue (Vicente Cid, Deep Blue) and Maracaná. There are victories that go beyond a provisional general classification. And the April Oil (Pérez Canal brothers, RCN Vigo) in the second stage of the 59th Rías Baixas Xacobeo Regata 2022 for Cruises is one of them.

On a day with morning fog, encalmed in A Lanzada and low fog at the entrance of the Ria de Arousa, the race had a dose of emotion to the end. The Regatas Committee had decided to wait on the ground until visibility allowed the exit. It didn't look like it, but it finally left and the fleet left at 13: 55.

Like Wednesday, the 9.7 tons that move the April Oils opened the way. On the beach of Montalvo, in Portonovo, the bathers could see their figure leading the group, with Magical (Julio Rodríguez, RCN Vigo), Solventis (José Lis, MRCY Baiona) and Maitena (Mikel Emaldi, Maritimo del Abra) in a wedge, as a persecutor group.

And in class 3, the Sailway Academy of Ramón Ojea, with Rodrigo Ojea, Alejandro Pérez Canal, Yago Osuna, Pablo Franco, Luis Sampedro (son) and Ricardo Fernández, is released, with two first, to a new title.

The 59th Rías Baixas Xacobeo 2022 Regata for Cruises confirmed in 18.20 miles that there will be a battle of swans... and not exactly black, under the direction of Ariane Mainemare, the Majorcan that was also the Chief Officer of the Regata in the European J70 of Vigo in 2018 and in the last two editions of the Rías, when it was sponsored by Mar de Maeloc.

The cruise race, the Rías Baixas-Xacobeo 21-22 Regata, referring to the entire Atlantic... today offered us some data at the beginning of which will be its 59 edition... discouraging: 28 ships in competition and 16 units of the so-called "open" of type cruise-family, without certificate... that is the tailor drawer. Total 44 ships, the lowest figure since the far 1970s... a bad news for the heavy Galician candle... after the 9 ships of the Rías Alta Regata and the 4 of the Finisterre... these data certainly deserve a deep examination in all rules, and a new approach to what is being done... because the ciphers speak for themselves.
