The selection of proud Piragüism in Halifax: 4 oros, 2 cans, 2 bronces

A gold brooch for some championships in which Spain stands as a great world power two years after the Olympic meeting of Paris 2024. The next to our interests will be the European Olympic Sprint Championship, which is held in Munich in two weeks. Spain will come with 42 representatives and many options to put Spanish pyragüism back at the top of the medallion
The last day of competition in Halifax started with the B-finals, where Spain had three representatives. The first to enter liza was Mirella Vázquez, which ended in seventh place, at 1.27 seconds from the winner, the Danish Sara Milthers (44: 10). It was better for Pablo Crespo in the C1 1000 where the palist of the School Piragüismo City of Pontevedra concluded fourth to 7.19 seconds of the Ukrainian Pavlo Altukhov that he won with a time of 4: 16.22.
The last of these finals in which Spain had participated was that of the K2 500 of Aida Bouza and Begoña Lazkano. The girls of the Reial Club Nautic Portopetro-Inturotel and the Club Donostia Kayak K.E. finished seven seconds from the winners, the Mexican couple composed of Karina Alanis and Marcela Montemayor who were imposed with a time of 1: 52.48.
The protagonism was taken back by the pure speed tests, the 200 meters, in which Spain demonstrated its potential in the world's pyragüism. The first was Maria Corbera on C1, who, starting from 3rd Street, made the two hectometers in which only the American Nevin Harrison (Olympic champion) was able to handle the wood. His final release was worth the money to the palist of the Club Piragüismo Aranjuez, which was imposed on the Chinese Lin for only a hundred. The winner signed with a time of 49.87 and Corbera reached 0.66 tenths.
The second medal of the day immediately arrived. After having obtained the gold on Saturday with the K4 500, Carlos Arévalo faced the final of the K1 200 with the same safety and knowing himself as the podium. From the start, UCAM Piragüismo imposed its law and proclaimed itself a world champion with a time of 36: 43, with 28 tenths of advantage over the silver that was hung by the Swedish Petter Menning.
They then arrived three finals over the distance of 1000 meters. Aitor Gorrotxategi and Pedro Vázquez were not able to win in the K2 and their 3: 40,39 served them to be septic of the world, 7.92 seconds from the German boat of Hiller and Grossmann. He was also unable to choose the podium Estefanía Fernández with his K1. The one at the Iuxtanam Mérida Polysports Club fought for the fifth since it finally took away the Czech Paloudova. Estefanía came into play with a time of 4: 38.48 to 10.83 seconds from the winner, the Australian Alyssa Bull.
At the door of the medals, the Dominguez brothers remained in the C1 1000 test. Noel and Diego fought to the end to try to reach the podium, but their effort ended up in a meritorious fourth place in a race that dominated German and Chinese and that took the first with a time of 3: 54,91. Those of the CMDC Club Breogán Do Grove entered into the finish of 13.18 seconds of gold and just over a second of bronze that added the Canadian boat.
The third Spanish medal of the day was given to us by C4 500. Joan Moreno, Pablo Grana, Manuel Fontán and Adrián Sieiro have been in the lead since the strains were hidden under water and no ship could reach the Spanish crew. World champions were proclaimed with a time of 1: 39.42, with almost half a second advantage over Poles and 1.10 over Ukrainians.
In the afternoon, the long-distance tests, the perfect closure of the World Cup for our delegation with two bronzes, were held. In the C1 5000 Maria Corbera, rested with the silver achieved in the morning, she got a more than deserved third place in a very hard trial and with very demanding portés to which the madrilela is not used. He sold the Canadian Katie Vincent (27.50: 88), the second was the German Annika Loske and the madriwood reached a finish of 11.64 seconds from the first.
The perfect closure to the Spanish party in Canada was put by the Talaveran Paco Cubelos. In the K1 5000 test he took off from the end of 1000 meters and with a great effort he fought for silver. Finally, UCAM Piragüismo added a bronze to eight Spanish metals. The winner of the trial was Swedish Lindberg (21: 34.23), followed by German Grossmaan, at 17.13 seconds and Paco entered 20.20 from the winner.

The K4 500 and the male C2 200 have been proclaimed world champions on the Halifax track... while the female K2 200 achieved silver... in a day to frame for our selected.
It opened the day Higinio Rivero, in VL2 200 paracanoe, remained four tenths of bronze, in a test of maximum equality. In KL2 200, Inés Felipe finished in eighth place just over 10 seconds from the winner and, at the last final of the Spanish Paracanoe, Adrián Mosquera stayed at the podium doors finishing fourth, less than half a second from the bronze. Javier Reja, who also participated in this final A of the VL3 200, concluded in ninth position 5.19 seconds from the winner.
For its part, Sete Benavides in C1 200, was left at the door of the medals... the gold was for the Polish Oleksii Koliadych and the silver for the German Nico Pickert.
In K4 500 female... Sara Ouzande, Carolina García, Laia Pelachs and Teresa Portela did not win the bronze medal for three hundred... the podium was Poland, Australia and Mexico.
And then came the first great joy of the K4 500 day of Saul Craviotto, Carlos Arévalo, Marcus Cooper and Rodrigo Germade.... Spain, Germany and Ukraine were the best.
Shortly after the second Spanish gold arrived... Cayetano García and Pablo Martínez del Náutico de Sevilla, at the end of the C2 500.
Where there was no option to fight for the podium was at the end of the K1 500... maybe Marcus Cooper's huge effort at the end of the K4 500, he went to Spain.
Next new joy in the K2 200 of Sara Ouzande and Teresa Portela. The palists of the Kayak Tudense Club and UCAM Piragüismo gave everything in the final and their effort and tenacity in the water took them to the silver prize... behind the Hungarian Blanka Kiss and Anna Lucz... closing the podium the Canadians Andreanne Langlois and Toshka Hrebacka.
In the end, the Talaveran Paco Cubelos could not fight for the medals at the end of the K1 1000... and Isabel Contreras and Manuel Fontán in their respective finals B were not bright.
Spain already signs four metals in these championships, the three of Saturday plus the gold of Friday of Juan Valle in Paracanoe and faces with hopes of achieving more on the day of the closing of competition. In total, we will be present in another 10 final A and will have to be pending the long distance that the championship closes. Garrido and Corbera in the C1 5000 and Cublos in the K1 5000, can put the gold brooch to a competition that is being historic for our sport.

Something more complicated will be the K2 500 Aida Bauza and Begoña Lazcano as they will have to win their series if they do not want to have to paddle in semi-finals for a square in the final that will be held on Sunday.
The one who was Olympic gold in Beijing with Saul Craviotto, Carlos Pérez, returns to some World Championships, this time accompanied by Roi Rodríguez on board his K2 500. No vessel will go to the end directly, the first six of each of the four series will go to the semi-finals.
