Marga Perelló del Nàutic S'Estanyol, has this morning become the world champion of ILCA 6 in sub 17 category after completing a great performance in Texas waters, in the United States. In addition, the balear regatist finished the world's sub-19 of this Olympic class in the fourth overall position.
The youth world of ILCA 6 began on Tuesday, July 26 and has been held over five days in which the 206 participants have completed a total of 11 tests. In the female category they competed 50 boats and Marga Perelló managed to get the gold sub 17. In these eleven races, Perelló has only two bad results: a DSQ and a 21. The remaining partials of the shooting are framed within the top 6 of the female fleet.
As for the male fleet, with 156 registered, the menorquin David Ponsetí was the most prominent Spanish, leaving in place 19 of the general. Along with Ponsetí, the Spanish Daniel Cardona (26), Mariano Cebrián (28), Pedro Conde (39) and Joan Ravie (47) competed in the final days within the gold group.
