The King's Cup delivers nine titles in Palma

The historic 40 edition of the Mapfre King's Cup was completed with full partials in the nine participating classes... the Embat, the faithful wind that gives fame to the bay of Palma for the sailing competition, allowed to meet the program in each of the six days of competition... the nine titles were resolved in the final test, and the Spanish Teatro Soho Caixabank and Balearia achieved the absolute trophies as best teams in compensated time and real time respectively... King Philip VI patronized the Aifos 500 to complete his participation with a meritorious victory in the last BMW-class manga ORC 1
The champions of the 40 Cup of the Mapfre King are the Germans Hatari (GER) in ClubSwan 50, Red Bandit in BMW ORC 1 and Meerblick Fun in BMW ORC 4; the Italians Scugnizza in BMW ORC 3 and G Spot in ClubSwan 36; and the Spaniards Nadir in ClubSwan 42, Soho Caixabank Theatre in BMW ORC 2, Balearia in Mallorca Sotheby's Women's Cup and Alcaidesa Marina in Herbalife J70.
At BMW ORC 1, Carl-Peter Forster's Bandit Network reached the last test with a five-point advantage. The German team showed their performance intermittently throughout the week, and after finishing the Fourth Previa Series, it achieved the title after shining in the Final Series. He was accompanied on the podium by the Argentine From Now On of Fernando Chain and the Estrella Damm of Luis Martínez Doreeste. King Philip VI returned to the command of the Aifos 500 and said goodbye with a magnificent victory in the last manga of the championship. The ship of the Spanish Navy held the fifth final position.
At BMW ORC 2, the Soho Caixabank Theatre managed to revalidate the title obtained in 2021. The powerful Swan 42 CS armed by Javier Banderas, patronized by Daniel Cuevas and with the tactic of Luis Dureste, was the best in both the Previa and the Final Series, and closed its participation with nine partial wins of 11 possible, including the last of the championship. In second position, to seven points, finished the Rivarene Gelato - Elena Nova of Christian Plump and Javier Sanz, one point ahead of the Estonian Katarina II of Aivar Tuulberg.
In BMW ORC 3, the title was the Scugnizza of Enzo de Blasio. The Italian ship won the Previa Series and only got off the provisional lead on the fourth day. After recovering the first provisional position with solvency on the last day, it reached the final manga with the highest income of the entire fleet. He completed his gestures with a third party that was worth taking the title with 15 points of advantage over the Wizard of Federico Linares. Third ended the Varicenter of Ignacio Zalvide.
In BMW ORC 4, Otto Pohlmann's Meerblick Fun chained his third consecutive partial victory to become a champion for four points of advantage over F. Miguel Giménez's Enewtec and nine over Giampiero Giannetti's Black Octopus.
The ClubSwan 50 class reached the final battle with two clear candidates for the title: Marcus Brennecke's Hatari, who had reached the provisional leadership for the first time the previous day, and Stefan Heidenreich's OneGroup, who led the provisional for three of the previous four days and reached the last duel with four points of disadvantage over his rival. After the OneGroup off-line at the last inning of the championship, Hatari had enough to cover his rival and score his worst partial of the week (11) to become a leading champion of the 40 Cup of King MAPHRE. Third finished the Sonke Meier- Sawatzki Niramo.
The winner of ClubSwan 42 was the Nadir of Pedro Vaquer. The newly proclaimed class world champion founded his victory in an excellent progression throughout the week. The Majorcan ship, which counts on the tactic with the canary Rayco Tabares, finished the Previa Series in fifth position, was imposed in a duel to three with the Koyré - Spirit of Nerina of Mirko Bargolini and the April Pez of José María Meseguer, who ended the race in that order.
In ClubSwan 36, the Italian Farstar of Lorenzo Monzo left as leader for the fifth consecutive day, two points ahead of the champion 2021, the Monegasque G Spot of Giangiacomo Serena. The victory was resolved in a dramatic final sleeve, in which the title defender was able to play his cards to score a valuable second that was equivalent to raising his second consecutive Cup. After 11 partials, the champion beat his immediate pursuit for just one point, the most adjusted income of this edition. Third finished the Turkish Facing Future of Mehmet Taki, with the tactic of the Basque Olympic champion Iker Martínez.
Both the female class and the J70 monotypes were fired with two sleeves on the final day. In Mallorca Sotheby's Women's Cup, the Balearia de María Bover was imposed in a three-way battle with the Dorsia Covirán de Natalia Vía-Dufresne and the Soho Boutique Hotels de Eva González. The RCNP team won the Previa Series, remained in front of the provisional every day less the first of the Final Series and ended with a four-point rent on the 2021 champions, the Dorsia Covirán.
In Herbalife J70, the champion was the Alcaidesa Marina de Gustavo Martínez Doreeste, followed by the Les Roches - Tripsst de Luis Bugallo and the Bodega Can Marles de Jorge Martínez Doreeste.
In addition to the nine class champion trophies, the 40 Mapfre King Cup awards the best teams among the competing classes in real time (ClubSwan, J70 and J80) and in compensated time (ORC). The combination of results determined that the Balearia was the best in real time and the Soho Caixabank Theatre was the best in compensated time.

2022-08-05: The Cup of the King of Sailing at the gates of the final day

The penultimate day of competition of the Mapfre King's Cup had unpublished wind conditions since the beginning of this historic 40 edition. Seven of the nine classes changed as a leader, and all face the last day with maximum emotion in the battle for the title. All classes play glory in one final assault except the female and J70, called to contest two tests to complete their competition program
The wind starred in the second day of the Final Series. On the one hand, he delayed the start of the competition for an hour; on the other, he showed records of unpublished intensity and instability this week. Only the Farstar (ClubSwan 36) and the Alcaidesa Marina (Herbalife J70) managed to defend their positions at the head of their respective classes. The title will be decided on a final day scheduled for a single assault in all classes but in the female and J70 classes, which will be able to fight two.

At BMW ORC 1, Carl-Peter Forster's Bandit Network was able to take advantage of the rise in wind intensity to take advantage of its fast TP52. The German ship scored a second and a first, more than enough to take away the leadership of the DK46 HM Hospitals of Carles Rodríguez (9 + 6) and fit five points to the only evidence that remains to be disputed. Third is the Argentine From Now On of Ezekiel Despontin, which overtakes by half the Damm Star of Luis Martínez Doreeste, who became leader after winning the first manga but punctured the next. The Aifos 500patroniado by King Philip was second in the second manga of the day and occupies the sixth provisional position.
At BMW ORC 2, the Soho Caixabank Theatre recovered the leadership that it had given in yesterday. Javier Banderas' ship won the first test of the day for a second on the Rivarene Gelato - Elena Nova, and both alternated positions in the next. The title's defender has five income points on the Swan 42 armed by Christian Plump and Javier Sanz, who issues on the provisional with the Katarina II of Aivar Tuulberg. Any of them can take the title.
In BMW ORC 3, the Scugnizza of Enzo de Blasio also took advantage of the two shots of this penultimate day to recover the lead from which it only took off yesterday. The Italian ship was imposed on the two sleeves, and took advantage of the stumbling of the Wizard of Federico Linares in the second (3 + 14) to face the last day with the highest income of the entire fleet: 14 points. Third is the Tanit IV - Medilevel of Nacho Campos (10 + 2).
In BMW ORC 4, the Meerblick Fun put order in the classification, revolutionized in the previous day after only one of the ships of the class managed to complete the tour in one of the two disputed tests. Today, they all competed, they all scored, and Otto Pohlmann's ship scored first two to recover the lead with which the Final Series began. The Enewtec (2 + 2) and the Black Octopus (4 + 5) follow.
The ClubSwan 50 class ended the day with the third different leader in three days. For the first time in this edition, Marcus Brennecke's Hatari heads the provisional after scoring a first and a second, the best card in the class with difference. The German ship, which began fourth the Final Series, has secured a square on the podium and faces the only test that will be held tomorrow with a four-point rent against the OneGroup (9 + 1 today) and 13 on the Niramo (2 + 10).
The Nadir of Pedro Vaquer is the new leader of ClubSwan 42. The current class world champion culminated in the rally that began yesterday from the fifth square with which he faced the Final Series. Today he managed to stand in the head by winning the first sleeve and being third in the next one. He leads four points to the April Pez of José María Meseguer (2 + 2) and five to the best of the Previa Series, the Koyré-Spirit of Nerina of Mirko Bargolini (8 + 1).
In ClubSwan 36, the Italian Farstar of Lorenzo Monzo (2 + 3) continues to lead, but gave a valuable point against its maximum threat, the Monegasque G Spot of Giangiacomo Serena (3 + 1), which now lurks to only two points. Third is the Turkish Facing Future of Mehmet Taki (6 + 2).
Herbalife J70 and Mallorca Sotheby's Women's Cup are the only classes that can contest two tests tomorrow. They have six partials in the Final Series that started yesterday.
In the female class, the Balearia de María Bover recovered the first position of the provisional with which the Previa Series ended. 2022-08-04: The Cup of the King of Sailing in the absence of two acts for his final sentence

The first of the three days that make up the Final Series caused interesting changes to the front of seven of the nine classes... only the HM Hospitals in BMW ORC 1, the Koyré-Spirit of Nerina in ClubSwan 42 and the Farstar in ClubSwan 36 managed to defend the leaders harvested in the Previous Series... King Philip VI competed with the leaders of the Aifos 500, which occupies the eighth provisional position of BMW ORC 1 class
After three days of Previa Series, the Mapfre King's Cup today entered the Final Series, the three-day program that will decide the champions of this historic 40 edition. Each team was on the ground with a number of points equivalent to the position with which it closed the Previa Series.
This first day was resolved in full in the nine classes: two tests in all except those sailing in J70 and J80, which contested the three planned. The Embat started blowing soft, with 8-9 knots, but ascended to range 12-13 as the day progressed. Seven of the nine classes returned to the RCNP with new leaders in front of their classifications, demonstrating that the battle for the title of this King's Cup remains completely open.
The leaders at the end of the first day of the Final Series are: HM Hospitals (ESP) in BMW ORC 1, Katarina II (EST) in BMW ORC 2, Brujo (ITA) in BMW ORC 3, Pulpo Negro (ESP) in BMW ORC 4, OneGroup (GER) in ClubSwan 50, Koyré-Spirit of Nerina (ITA) in ClubSwan 42, Farstar (ITA) in ClubSwan 36, Dorsia Covirán (ESP) in Majorca Soteby Women (ESP 's) in Herca, and in Herca.
In BMW ORC 1, the HM Hospitals was again the best in the fleet and it is the position at the front of the table. Carles Rodríguez's powerful DK46 recovered from an offline in the first manga and achieved a hard-working victory. In the second, he only fell to TP52 Red Bandit. The Star Damm of Luis Martínez Dorese was able to defend the second place in the Previa Series with a second and a third, and he retains his options stalking three points from the leader. The Aifos 500 of the Spanish Navy, patronized by Philip VI, occupies the eighth position.
In BMW ORC 2, the Soho Caixabank Theatre began the day while maintaining its imbatibility, but it fell in the second one by failing to recover from a bad exit, scoring a fifth that resulted in giving up the lead for the first time in the week. The Estonian Katarina II, who with two seconds is the new leader of the class, overcomes him, a point ahead of the ship armed by Javier Banderas.
In BMW ORC 3 it was the Witch of Federico Linares that overtook the undisputed dominator of the Previa Series, the Scugnizza of Enzo de Blasio. The Gaditan ship, which went out into the second water, returned leader after scoring a quarter and a first. He takes advantage of his Italian rival for the minimum.
In BMW ORC 4, only the Black Octopus of Giampiero Gianetti was released from adding NSC (equivalent to not completing the tour) in the two contested sleeves. In the first, no participant completed the tour and all received eight points in their locker; in the second, the Dufour 34 of Giampiero Gianetti was the only one who interpreted the tour change announced by the Regata Committee, and is the new leader.
In ClubSwan 50, the first leader of the Final Series is the OneGroup of Stefan Heidenreich. The Swiss ship, which completed the Third Previous Series, raised two positions thanks to signing the best card of the day: a first and a second. Earlybird, which went out into the leading water, fell to the fifth square by scoring a painful 14 in the second manga of the day after failing to recover from a double penalty. The Spanish Tenaz of Pablo Garriga, second yesterday, returned to the sixth RCNP after a discreet day (11 + 6).
The battle for the title of ClubSwan 42 is increasing. The Koyre - Spirit of Nerina of Mirko Bargolini, a clear dominator of the first half of the championship, managed to defend his position at the head of the provisional but is now tied to points with the Canopo of Adriano Majolino and the Nadir of Pedro Vaquer. The Spanish ship was the best of the day, with two seconds that allowed it to ascend from the fifth to the third position.
In ClubSwan 36, the Farstar of Lorenzo Monzo took advantage of this first day of the Final Series to reaffirm his candidacy for the title, with a third and a first. Three points from the leader is the champion 2021, the G Spot of Giangiacomo Serena (1 + 5).
In Mallorca Sotheby's Women's Class, the Dorsia Covirán de Nuria Sánchez is the new leader. The 2021 champions, who started this final series second, amortised the three tests of the day (3 + 1 + 1) to stand in front of the classification, now ahead of the Soho Boutique Hotels of Eva González (1 + 4 + 2). The Balearia de María Bover scored the most discreet partials of the week (2 + 3 + 5) and falls from the first to the third position.
