Historical victory for the April Oils of Luis and Jorge Pérez-Canal in the forty-seventh edition of the Trophy Conde de Gondomar- Grand Prix Zelnova Zeltia / Banco Sabadell.

With the dispute of the last two batons of the competition, the ship led by the Orensano brothers achieves its sixth title, equating the record of triumphs that he held so far in solitaire from the Pairo of José Luis Freire... the abiles formed with the following crew: Luis and Jorge Pérez-Canal, Eduardo Reguera, Pablo Iglesias, Carlos Sanmartín, Luis Sampedro, Pablo Espinosa, César Torné, Rafael Martnez-Almeida, Iago Carrera, Sebastián Martnez-Risco, Luis da Rcha and Juan de Cominges

From behind, the second place went to the hands of the Magic, also with the grympola of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo. A third and a fourth were the results of those of Julio Rodríguez on this last day, ending with a two-point distance on the Solventis de Alberto Moro (Monte Real Club de Yates), which was the third... three excellent and powerful ships at the highest national level.

2022-07-24: Only Magic threatens April Oil in the Count of Gondomar

Emotion in the penultimate day of the forty-seventh edition of the Trophy Conde de Gondomar- Zelnova Zeltia Grand Prix and Banco Sabadell, in which the entire participating fleet completed the classic turn to Ons. 32 miles in total than the fastest in the fleet, the Magical of Julio Rodríguez of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, completed in five hours and three minutes.

The Swan de Julio Rodríguez ascended a post and was placed second of the General of ORC to only two and a half points from the title's defender, the April Oil, who will try to add tomorrow his sixth victory of the Count of Gondomar. In the back, the third position of the provisional podium is now occupied by the Solventis de Alberto Moro, with a grumpola of the Monte Real club of Yates.

After this second manga, the April Oils in general, ahead of Magic and Solventis... that make up the provisional podium.

In the ORC Open category in a background and without technical rigour as regards measurement certificates, the Yess of Rui Ramada is sent by the Unus of Luis García Trigo and the Narval of José Antonio Portas de Vilagarcía.

In the other competitions under the umbrella of the so-called Erizana Trophy... the ORC class commands Deep Blue 2.1 of the Vigo Nautico, second is the Orensian Black Burla of Castrelo and the Nahela of Victor Aclvarez del Alagua... in the J80 is Alboroto de Ameneiro the first, followed by Spaco of Santiago Pérez and the Hull Max of Chisco Catalán... and finally in the Figaros of the School of the Royal Mount first is Erizana, followed by Bouvento and Serralleiras.

Tomorrow at the edge of 6: 30 in the afternoon, the award ceremony at Mount Real Club de Yates.

2022-07-23: Oil First April leader of the Count of Gondomar Trophy in Baiona

First manga of the race with the greatest tradition of the Mount Real Club of Yates of Baiona: the Trophy Conde de Gondomar three editions of the half-hundred and that has at stake the Grand Prix of Zelnova Zeltia and of the Bank of Sabadell.

Two are the categories on this occasion, but only one with all the minimum sports pronouncements required to a race of this packaging and tradition: the category ORC... because in the ORC Open the rigorosity is totally disvirtuated with the admission of cruises without the corresponding certificate of measurement, making it a competition of cruising-family... which is fantastic from the point of view of generating environment, but without any commitment of high competition... as clearly put it by the regatta announcement that the Royal Mount: The ORC OPEN ships may be ships without a certificate in force, dacron candles or ships that are not considered competitive to participate in ORC.

The leader after the first day, is the April Oils armed by the Pérez Canal brothers, being the second position for the moment for Solventis de Alberto Moro and the third place for the spectacular Swan de Julio Rodríguez... the Magic. First and third of the fleet of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo and the provisional silver for the Solventis.

In the non-competitive class the Open, the first three squares were for the Yess of Rui Ramada, the Txole of Ignacio Sánchez Otaegui and the Unus of the imfuel and almost legendary Luis García Trigo.

Also the participants in the so-called Erizana Trophy... that as said in Portugal that e outra cousa, because it is a race with a sastre drawer philosophy, in which its raison d'être is to gather more ships.

They made another race, not the rise of the Carrumeiro, in which was imposed the Deep Blue of Vicente Cid, ahead of the Black Brula of Juan José Martínez... the one of the Nautico of Vigo and the other of the Oresman Castrelo of Miño. The third square was for the Nahela of Víctor Alvarez del Alagua de A Guarda.

The second of the trophies at stake, the Erizana Trophy, came on stage this Saturday with a coastal race in which the ships that did not go up to the Carrumeiro on Friday participated. They left at 11: 00 from Baiona Bay and sailed to Subrido passing through Carallones, the Black and Bondaña, to end up in front of the Cies. It was an easy and fast race, which the Salseiro de Manuel Blanco (RCN A Coruña) completed in just over three hours. Some J80 also participated... being the best Alboroto of Juan Carlos Ameneiro.

Three sleeves now remain and will be held in two days. For tomorrow the old average race by the Sea of Baiona from 11: 00 in the morning and as it closes on Sunday in the river of Vigo, two barlovento-sotavento... will end this edition of the Count with the award of prizes on the day of Santiago Apostle at 6: 30 in the afternoon at the Barteries of the Crab, in the very beautiful and incomparable amural enclosure of Monte Real... where the news of the Discovery of the Americas was received on March 1, 1493.

2022-07-22: The giant Yess meets the prognosis in the Carrumeiro

The Yess of Rui Ramada met all the forecasts was the first ship to reach and turn the Chico Carrumeiro in inaugural trial of the Count of Gondomar Trophy - Grand Prix Zelnova Zeltia Banco Sabadell, the historic Regata Jesus Valverde.

The 63-foot Hanse, armed and patronized by the experienced Portuguese navigator, and tripulated by Pedro Pinto, Nuno Campos, Pedro Azevedo and Óscar Peixoto), was to turn the Carrumeiro Chico at 18: 15, seven hours and a quarter after leaving Baiona.

In the second half of the test, which the Yess will take a few hours to complete, the wind direction is being key to the boat. With the wind blowing in the north and carrying an asymmetric spinnaker, the sailboat will not reach all the speed that a north-east or north-west wind could offer, and this could harm them with respect to other crews.

However, the separation of the Yess with the rest of the fleet is very large and right now it only fights against itself, to try to reach Baiona before 22: 56, which would allow it to beat the record of the stage of the Carrumeiro, which the Cenor & of Dietrich has held since 2011.

The second crew to reach the rock of Corcubion was that of Solventis, led by Alberto Moro, also from Mount Real Club de Yates. He did it at 19: 39: 51, almost an hour and a half after the Yess. Throughout the course, from the very beginning of the test, he maintained a hard hand-to-hand with the April Oils, by the brothers Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal; and the Magic of Julio Rodríguez; and finally managed to advance them with some margin before reaching the key point of the Carrumeiro. A total of 11 cruises are participating in this assault.

After the Valverde Jesus, there are still four trials ahead. This Saturday a coastal will be played for the Ria de Vigo, on Sunday the classic Vuelta a Ons which was historically called the Regata Mar de Baiona; and on Monday, the last day of competition, two sticks in the regatta field of the Cis Islands.

2022-07-21: Three years after the 50th anniversary, a renewed Count of Gondomar with 40 ships

The Conde de Gondomar Trophy is sponsored by Zelnova Zeltia and Banco Sabadell; and it has the special collaboration of the City Council of Pontevedra. The competition also includes the Xunta de Galicia, the municipality of Baiona, the Volvo Autesa de Vigo concessionaire, the premium gin Martin Miller, the Teras Guda winery and the Musto nautical clothing brand. In the official presentation of the competition held on Thursday at the Monte Real club of Yates, in addition to the president of the club, José Luis Álvarez; the delegate of Zelnova Zeltia, Juan Carlos Ameneiro; the institutional director of SabadellGalician, Adolfo García Ciaño; the mayor of Baiona, Carlos Gómez; the deputy of Sports of the Diputación de Pontevedra, Gorka Gómez; the territorial delegate of the Xunta de Galicia in Vigo, Marta Fernández- Tapias; and the comandoro del Monte Real, Ignacio Sánchez Otaegui (Analía Rodríguez)

Presentation in the legendary Crab Battery in the walled area of Monte Real, of the most traditional race of the Baiona Yacht Club... the Count of Gondomar Trophy that will have at stake one more year the Grand Prize Zelnova Zeltia- Banco Sabadell.

It will open the competition with the rise to the Carrumeiro Chico, almost 100 miles away... and two will be the participating categories... ORC and Open... in the last edition, the fastest ship to complete the test was the Magic of Julio Rodríguez.

Boats of great length, amen of the Magic, Marnatura and of the Oils April, will be the lusitan Yess of Rui Ramada with no less than 63 feet of length... Txole of Ignacio Sánchez Otaegui of Baiona, to the arousan Narval of José Antonio Portas, to the Ronautics Marinas of Joaquín Carneiro of the Nautico San Telmo to also Portuguese Five of Joao Tourigo and Maximus of Jorge Leite, among others.

The boat that won this stage will take the Carrumeiro Chico Trophy, one of the three that includes this year's Zelnova Zeltia / Banco Sabadell Grand Prize. The other two trophies in liza are the Count of Gondomar Trophy, which includes the Carrumeiro test, the return to Ons and two cane; and the Count of Gondomar-Erizana Trophy, in which they will score a coastal race, the return to Ons and two cane.

The J80 monotypes, as well as the Figaros of the Royal Mount School, will also participate in tests parallel to those of the Count of Gondomar. On Friday in the end the Trophy Conde de Gondomar, a special and historical race since 1976 in which it was born from the hand of Admiral Rafael Lorenzo Montero, of the great Humberto Cervera and Fernando García Tobío... the only of the three that is among us and that it is for many years. By the way the first planning: Baiona-Muros, Muros-Baiona and an Olympic Triangle in Silleiro... the winner the legendary Contention 33 Ardora armed by Alfonso Paz Andrade and Julio González Babé, a regatta ship in which they competed on a few occasions...
