Spain will be represented by 15 crews in 420 and 2 in 470

The waters of Vilamoura, since tomorrow Thursday, welcome the dispute of the youth European championships of classes 420 and 470, in which Spain will be represented by a powerful squadron made up of 17 teams, 15 of 420 and 2 of 470. A total of 187 athletes from 20 countries will compete.

The 420 Youth European Championship is reserved for crews up to 19 years of age, in male, female and mixed categories, with independent fleet for the Sub17 European Championship.

The Spanish squadron is composed of the baleares Marc Mequida and Ramón Jaume, Ian Clive and Finn Dicke and Maria Perelló and Marta Cardona; along with the Catalans Pau Lfreo and Alberto Marsans, Pol Mateu and Alejandro de Maqua, and Nora García de la Casa and Mariona Ventura; the canaries Jaime Ayarza and Mariano Hernández de Torres and Alejandra Pérez and Ana Bapst; the Gallego- Andalusian crew of Susana Ridao and Daniela Mariño; and the gallegobalar of Stella Maririz and Marta Ensiz.

In this same class, but framed in the European Sub17, the Andalusians Marta Álvarez-Dardet and Paloma Flethes participate; the baleares Marisa Alexandra Vicens and Fernando Barceló and Nicola Jane and Sofía Cavaco; and the canaries Sara Díaz and Lola Hernández and Miguel Ángel Morales and Alejandro Martín.

Along with the 420 Spanish athletes are the Magda Resano and Pablo Flethes national coaches, and the Xesc Mulet and Carlos Minguel class coaches.

In the European youth of 470, the two Spanish crews displaced to Vilamoura belong to the category Sub21: Neus Ballester (Baleares) and Pablo García (Galicia), and Pablo Ruiz (Baleares) and Marta Peñarrubia (Valencia). These two teams are supported by Enric Noguera national coach.

After the two days dedicated to the registration of participants and measurements, the races will begin tomorrow Thursday 21, and will continue until Tuesday 26. For the first three days it is expected to blow a soft wind accompanied by a thermal that could reach 12 knots.
