The Gitana Cup, organized by the Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, concluded in the Vizcaina waters of the Abra with the final triumph of the Gaitero of Juan Valdivia in the Spirit of Tradition class; and the Alpega of Miguel Arriola in the Regata- Cruise class. One day earlier, José Azqueta's Biobizz had been imposed on the J80 division.

The classic Gitana Cup returns one more year to the waters of the Abra. The Royal Maritime Club of the Abra-Real Sporting Club, closes its July tests with its most historic appointment.

Category of Epoch and Casics... lthe ships, according to their year of construction, will be registered in the Epoque category (launched until 31 December 1949) or in the Classic category (launched between 1 January 1950 and 31 December 1975). In both categories, the participation of replicas, vessels designed in these periods, but later launched, is allowed, provided that in their construction the original plans have been faithfully followed and the same techniques and materials used at the time they were designed have been used.
Spirit of Tradition... eThis class can take part in all the ships built before 31 December 1997. The organisation may admit the registration of other ships not included in the categories described, but which are similar, and must accept the rating assigned to them.
