During the weekend it was held in the waters of Gijón Bay, the Asturias championship of ILCA 6, organized by the Real Club Astur de Regatas.

On Saturday the weather did not accompany, even though it was tried, even the exit was reached to a sleeve, in the middle of the first stretch the race was cancelled as the lack of wind prevented the development of the test. After waiting a reasonable time and in view of the lack of wind, the race committee cancelled the day.

On Sunday, it was very much like the Saturday day, the weather forecast was not being met and everything was about to be a day of white. However, after about an hour of waiting, the wind broke into the bay, first loose in the North, which went up in intensity until it came to blow a Northeast of 18 knots.

Fernando Alonso, who defended the title, showed that he was in an exceptional state of shape, won the first and third manga, finishing in third position the second, with these results in his locker was made with the championship.

Rene Velázquez, for his part, managed to improve the performance of the last edition by moving from the third square to the subchampionship, after scoring a second and two-fifths.

The third position was achieved by Jacobo Fernández, who would cross the line of arrival in the first place in the second manga, very attentive to a change of tour, after rolling the wind about 40 degrees.

For its part, the madrileño Alfonso Moreno, would end up in second position of the cambinada general after two seconds and a third.

2022-07-14: Championship of the Principality of Asturias of ILCA this weekend in gijonese waters

During this week, the class ILCA 6 Asturias Championship will be held in the waters of Gijón Bay. The competition is run by the Royal Astur Club of Regatas.

On Saturday and Sunday, Gijón hosts a new championship of light sailing Asturias, on this occasion of the ILCA 6 one of the boats chosen by the School of Sailing of the Gijón Regatta Club to train its students.

At 12: 30 on Saturday morning, the competition will begin, with six sleeves planned... three a day.
