Good performance of the Swiss track of Lucerne of our athletes

The third World Cup of the season was held in the Swiss city of Lucerne... Spain came with a total of nine ships and got into a total of three Finals A.

The national expedition participated in the world-wide event with 16 athletes, forming four boats in the female category and five in the male category... the same participation as in the 1st World Cup, with the exception of a change in the 4th female, where María Fernanda Valencia took the place of Iria Jarama.

Although the competition began with the fall of Natalia de Miguel (LW1x), who in the first edition had climbed to the third step of the podium, for being positive in Covid-19, he finished with the bronze of Rodrigo Conde and Aleix García in the last final with Spanish presence in the Lucerne World Cup.

The couple, which forms the double scull and has already hung the bronze in the first World Cup in Belgrade, came only behind the Croatian boat made up of the Sinkovic brothers and the Australian of Bartholot and Antill.

Jordi Jofre (M1x) was fifth, the two without Jaime Canalejo and Javier García sixth and Manel Balastegui and Caetano Horta were seventh after the first end of the Final B. The same position was obtained by Aina Cid, María Fernanda Valencia, Julia Ros and Nuria Puig. Daniel Gutiérrez (LM1x) was eighth and skiffist Virginia Diaz 10th.
