Point and final for the twenty-second edition of the Superyacht Cup Palma, which has ended today with Ganesha declaring himself the absolute winner... St. John's. Regis Race Day, by the hotel sponsor St. John's. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort, has put an end to the competition.

The final test left two boats tied to points opting for the absolute title of the Superyacht Cup Palma: Class J Svea and the elegant Ganesha. But thanks to his victory in today's test, against the second place achieved by Svea in Class J, Ganesha was raised with the absolute title of the 2022 edition of Europe's longest superyacht race.

In Class J, consistency has also been the key to success for Svea, who has taken advantage of the first two trials to proclaim himself a winner with a total of five points and a second at St. John's. Regis Race Day. Ranger has been the winner of the day, leaving second in the general with two third and the first of today. They close the table Topaz and Velsheda, tied to 9 points.

In Class B, Savannah's promising race start has been truncated by today's fourth position, which leaves him in the second position of the general.

On the other hand, for the largest boat in the fleet, Ganesha, 46 meters long, design by Dubois Naval Architects and built by Vitters Shipyard, consistency has been the key to success. With two seconds in the first two trials, thanks to today's victory, he has risen with the triumph in Class A.

The changes in the fate and direction of the wind today marked the New Zealand Race Day at the Superyacht Cup Palma, the second day of competition in which the whole fleet of spectacular superyachts has been gathered, leaving an open end for the final test of tomorrow Saturday.

Class J Ranger, with its white helmet, has been the first to turn, followed by the Topaz, class leader after the first two days of competition. Meanwhile, Velsheda and Svea have remained walled to starboard for a few minutes that have proved to be decisive, as the couple has established a close advantage in the first beacon that has managed to maintain to the end.

The second Svea square on the New Zealand Race Day has allowed it to extend its advantage in the provisional general classification, in which it is held at the head, two points ahead of Velsheda, and with Ranger and Topaz, tied in third and fourth place, respectively.

In Class A, the smallest unit in the class, Rose, a 24-meter-long Farr Wally design, has been surprised to rise with the victory, having had to leave yesterday's test due to a propulsion problem... the second position has been for Kiboko Three, 32-meter, another Farr design built by Southern Wind Shipyard that continues to lead the joint general. For its part, Plattoo, the 33-meter unit of Vitters Shipyard with Malcolm McKeon design, has been third in today's test and remains second in the provisional table.

For its part, Savannah, a 27-meter-long Pedrick design, has not forgiven in Class B, making itself again with the victory in the New Zealand Race Day for just a second advantage in compensated time, setting itself in a comfortable first with two points, followed by the giant Ganesha of 46 meters, another unit of Vitters Shipyard, designed by Dubois Naval Architects with four points. Archelon, 37 meters, Humphreys design and construction of Pendennis Shipyard with six, and La Belle, also of Vitters Shipyard of 43 meters and Dubois design, with a total of 9 points.

The Bay of Palma has been today the stage of the opening of the fleet to the full of the Superyacht Cup Palma, the most long superyacht race in Europe, which in its twenty-sixth edition brings together eleven ships from 24 to 46 meters in length.

With a slightly lighter breeze than in the opening day, the Pantaenius Race Day has again had excellent conditions that have allowed the fleet to show its power in a disputed coastal race of more than three hours.

After the races, the North Sails & Southern Sparks Happy Hour is held on the terrace of RCN Palma. Tomorrow Friday will be the thunder of the New Zealand Race Day, followed by the last day of competition, with the St. John's. Regis Race Day.

The Superyacht Cup Palma 2022 has started this morning from the hand of Class J quartet, which has a good number of sailing legends on board, with names like Ed Baird, Peter Holmberg, Bouwe Bekking, Tom Dodson, Nacho Postigo, Paul Standbridge, Jordi Calafat, Francesco De Angelis or Marcel Van Triest.

With almost perfect navigation conditions, with wind of between 10 and 14 knots, the imposing Class J, have completed two tests in the crystalline waters of the Bay of Palma. With its more than 40 meters of length - Ranger, Svea, Topaz and Velsheda - they have offered a master class of hand-to-hand races, with a skilled crew work and active tactical decisions that have changed the leadership on each sleeve.

The high level of the fleet and the desire to compete have become evident since the first test, in which Ranger has crossed the exit line before time, being forced to turn back. In the barlovent beacon, Topaz passed first within walking distance of Svea and Velsheda, and with Ranger standing on their heels in a determined attempt to remount.

The decisive moment reached the end of the first of the two laps, with Topaz and Svea side by side and taking the door for opposite ends. Svea did so on the left side of the barlovento section, which has given it a clear advantage that it has been able to maintain to the end, making it with the victory in the first test, followed by Topaz, Ranger and Velsheda.

After applying the Class J classification system, designed to allow the compensated competition between ships of different characteristics, weight and antiquity, Topaz proclaimed himself the winner of the test, with Velsheda in second place, followed by Ranger and Svea.

The first day of competition of the Superyacht Cup Palma leaves a provisional table of Class J with Topaz to the head with three points, followed by Svea with five, and Velsheda and Ranger tied with six points.

Tomorrow Thursday the rest of the fleet of the Superyacht Cup will join the class J quartet, to fight for three more days of intense races, in which they will compete for the absolute winner trophy of 2022 and that of the class J.

This very morning the tests have begun in the sea of the Superyacht Cup Palma 2022, the most long superyacht race in Europe, which brings together until next Saturday July 2 some of the most spectacular boats in the world in the waters of the Bay of Palma.

The spectacular Class J has premiered the race field, which has offered a year more excellent navigation conditions. The four units of the mythical class that recovers the original ships of America's Cup -Ranger,Velsheda,SveaandTopaz- manned by true figures of the world candle, they have offered a magnificent show in Mallorcan waters along the two disputed tests.

In this season, the Superyacht Cup Palma is the second of the three key events of the J-Class Association, following the Saint Barth's Bucket held in March and before the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which will take place in September.

This afternoon, after the briefing of captains in the Grand Salon of the Nautico, the welcome cocktail presented by the sponsor destination of the test, New Zealand, next to DYT Yacht Transport, on the terrace of the Mallorcan club... tomorrow will be the turn of Pantaenius Race Day, which will show the fleet to the full in action. Less than a week for the exit pistolet, everything is ready for the Superyacht Cup Palma 2022, Europe's longest superyacht race, which will bring together some of the most spectacular boats in the world in the waters of the Bay of Palma.

The crews have already started to meet to prepare for the start of the competition, on Wednesday, June 29, making the final adjustments and brushing intensive training to prepare a test that is expected to be very competitive.

The Class J iconic quartet will be in charge of opening the race field, following the selection of the Superyacht Cup Palma as the second of the three key events of the J-Class Association in 2022, after the Saint Barth's Bucket held in March and before the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, which will take place in September.

Class J Ranger arrives in Palma after having won at St Barth's for a single point of advantage over Velsheda, a situation that will no doubt want to reverse the latter on the Mallorcan date. Meanwhile, Svea and Topaz will seek to sneak into the podium of Palma, in a competition of four units manned by true figures of the candle.

Class A features a trio of high-performance units: 32-meter-long Kiboko Three, designed by Farr; 24-meter Wally, Rose; and 33-meter Pattoo, and Malcolm McKeon's design, which was second in its class last year.

Class B also has a boat that is looking forward to exceeding last year's result. It is the high-performance cruise Ganesha, 46 meters long, second in class after the absolute winner of 2021, Ravenger. In this same class the powerful Archelon, design of Humphreys Oyster 1225 of 37.6 meters, for whom it is its first race, the modern classic Savannah, of 27 m designed by David Pedrick, and the 43 m La Belle balander, which makes its debut at the Superyacht Cup Palma.

The event will officially begin on June 28 at the Real Club Náutico de Palma with the Class J record, which will follow the record of the rest of the superyachts on June 29, the briefing of captains in the Grand Salon of the RCN Palma, and the welcome cocktail presented by the destination sponsor of the test, New Zealand, next to DYT Yacht Transport, on the terrace of the RCNP.
