Turno for the younger athletes in the International Sailing Week, the Optimist classes and 420, with 80 ships full of youth fighting in the Trophy Juan Sebastián Elcano-V Centenary.

In the Optimist class the two tests of the day have had different winners. If the first was in the hands of the canary Gustavo del Castillo del Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, the second was for the local David Sales of the Real Club Marítimo de Santander, who in the end is made with the provisional gold for its regularity.

The Optimist class will be the largest with a call for almost 80 young athletes from the Canary Islands, the Basque Country, Asturias, Galicia and Cantabria, while the double category 420 will have 14 registered teams from Cantabria and the Basque Country.

The Juan Sebastián Elcano Regata will be held in the open of Santander, if conditions allow, with up to 9 tests scheduled by the team of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander and from 12 hours every day.

Among the favorites to highlight the Canary fleet and the cantabra, in which the Royal Maritime Club of Santander has made a great effort to promote the passion for the sea and the creation of a new quarry of athletes under the direction of coach Jorge Angulo.
