The Optimist class will be the largest with a call for almost 80 young athletes from the Canary Islands, the Basque Country, Asturias, Galicia and Cantabria, while the double category 420 will have 14 registered teams from Cantabria and the Basque Country.
The Juan Sebastián Elcano Regata will be held in the open of Santander, if conditions allow, with up to 9 tests scheduled by the team of the Royal Maritime Club of Santander and from 12 hours every day.
Among the favorites to highlight the Canary fleet and the cantabra, in which the Royal Maritime Club of Santander has made a great effort to promote the passion for the sea and the creation of a new quarry of athletes under the direction of coach Jorge Angulo.
In addition to the scheduled races Optimist and 420 will perform an exhibition in front of the school ship Juan Sebastián Elcano on Wednesday day, just before the beginning of the tests of the day.
