The dupla Marcos Míguez- Jose Ramón Pardo of the Marina Coruña Nautical Club were awarded the Galician Championship of the Snipe class, which organized this weekend the Real Club Nautico de La Coruña.

With three victories and a second position they also win in the 49 Trophy City of La Coruña of this class, one of the most prestigious and ancient that are held in Spain... Míguez y Pardo already have three victories in the City of La Coruña, as well as Jaime de Miranda and Manuel Bermudez de Castro. We must remember that in property, by winning on five occasions, it only has this Tower of Hercules in silver, the Malagasy Felix Gancedo.

This Sunday, despite the adverse conditions of time, it was possible to leave the fourth manga at 3.10 hours - an hour later than expected - with 14 knots of force but waves of 2.5 to 3 meters. The triumph in this last manga was for Jaime de Miranda and Juan García Tizón who achieved the fifth final square.

First day of the City of La Coruña Trophy of Snipe... with rank of the Galician Class Championship and which is organizing the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña... in which the judges had to work hard and well to meet the program planned.

Three hours were put to the test of the 28 snipists, so that with just 8 knots of wind, the first of the three sleeves that would be held in the end... and that were won by the dupla Marcos Míguez- Jose Ramón Pardo of the Club Náutico Marina Coruña.

The second provisional square is for his colleagues from Club Juan Manuel Cajade-Tiago Padron, with two seconds and a third place. The third square is for Jorge and Marta Tábara, from the Nautico de La Coruña, with two rooms and a fifth.

Fernando Tajuelo and Claudia Díaz are rooms (3-6-6) and Patricio de Haz-Mario Pérez of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo are fifths (7-7-4). The Asturian Francisco Silvela and the Coruñés Mauro González Regueral are placed in the sixth square and they were from less to more (14-3-2).

Another crew of the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, that of Jaime de Miranda and Juan García Tizón, who are second in the Galician ranking of the season, made an eighth, a fifth and a DNF in the third manga, which leads them to the tenth position.

Twenty snipes will be playing this weekend the legendary City of La Coruña Trophy, which meets its forty-ninth edition organized by the Royal Nautical Club of La Coruña, and which will begin at two o'clock this Saturday afternoon, with tests throughout the weekend.

This edition has the official quality of being the Galician Championship and once again enters the national calendar. This is one of the oldest competitions in Spain and Galicia has one of the most important and oldest fleet of this ship.

This Trophy, a large silver Tower of Hercules, began to be held in 1973 and its first winner was the Malagasy Félix Gancedo, one of the best Spanish regatists of all time, with its mythical Grand Numa. In addition, Félix Gancedo is the only sportsman who owns the trophy on five occasions... the last winner of the event in last year's edition was the crew formed by Jaime de Miranda and Juan García Tizón.
