The twenty-second edition of the Tembra Vela Diputación de Alicante reached the end in a brilliant edition with Maverta's victory (RCN Torrevieja) in Lucas Fox ORC 0-1-2, Brujo (RCN Cadiz) in Lucas Fox ORC 3, Truel (CN Dos Mares) in Lucas Fox ORC 4-5, Lagun (RCR Alicante) in Mapfre Promotion and Dorsia-Covirán (Marina Burriananova) in Mercedes-Benz J80 are its new champions.

They have participated half a hundred ships arrived from Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Murcia, Comunitat Valenciana, Galicia and País Vasco... the Maverta also took the Trophy V Centenary.

The Maverta of Pedro Gil was certainly the great favorite after winning the SM Trophy the Queen where he ended up undefeated. In Alicante he had nothing easy and although he took the win in Lucas Fox ORC 0-1-2, the Bat Fandango 300 (Marina Salina) planted him face to lead the general during the first two days, but the Maverta would win the last two sleeves and add up another victory. The Euroatomized Group (RCN Castellón) of Javier Maestre was third, ahead of the Star Damm (RCMT Punta Umbria) of Nacho Montes, which would end fourth after the grouping of categories 0-1-2 has not favored him in the conditions of soft winds that have blown during the three days in the waters of Alicantines.

In Lucas Fox ORC 3 the Wizard of Federico Linares has been the brilliant winner. The Gaditan ship arrived as one of the favorites and was expected a closed fight especially with the local Tanit IV-Medilevel (RCR Alicante) of María José Valero, but those of Linares did not give choice and won with relative authority, four points of difference with the TeamTac (RCN Denia) of Gustavo Gastaldi, who came to lead the Tembra Vela after the first day. The Nemox-Bnfix (RCR Cartagena) of the Romero brothers would be third. The Tanit IV- Medilevel would finish fourth.

In Lucas Fox ORC 4-5, the Truel took its lead on the first day and no longer left the first position, even though it was the smallest ship in its group. The boat of Pedro Aegea was the best able to manage the soft winds and take the victory with two points above the Cool Wave (RCR Alicante) of Luis Rodríguez and the MK III (CN Santa Pola) of Rafael Morán, second and third respectively.

In Mapfre Promoción, which only sailed in the middle day, the winner was the Lagun de Salvador Fernández.

The Mercedes-Benz J80 monotypes were reserved for female crews, the Tencarca Vela being the second-largest race for the Iberdrola League of Women's Sailing. The Dorsia Corvirán, patronized by the Olympic bimedalist Natàlia Via-Dufresne, won the three tests held on the last day, thus unbanding the first leaders, the Decoexsa (RCN San Sebastián), who could only see how the Valencians won without palliative. The local RCRA-SomVela team of Rita González was third.

In the third and last day of the Tembra Vela-Diputación de Alicante the weather was similar to that of the previous days, very soft winds from the southeast that only reached the six knots of intensity with what the Regatas Committees chaired by Pedro Reyes in the Lucas Fox ORC and Mapfre Promotion and Laura Germán in Mercedes-Benz J80 did not have it easy, but they overtook it with note.

The Mercedes-Benz J80 were able to contest the complete program of six tests, while the Lucas Fox ORC remained at the door of the plenary, with the dispute of four of the five tests provided for in the calendar, since on the last day they could only celebrate one, and that the wind fell just before the time limit of three in the afternoon was reached.

The return to the island of Tocarca is the great classic of the Tocarca Vela Diputación de Alicante, a 31-mile high race around the smallest inhabited island of Spain.

In Lucas Fox ORC 0-1-2 the Fandango 300 (Marina Salinas) by Javier Sabiote arrived leader after a surprising first day and also ends the second day; although the Maverta (RCN Torrevieja) by Pedro Gil was the winner of the return to the island. In ORC 3 the Witch (RCN Cadiz) of Fede Linares is the new leader and in ORC 4-5 the Truel (CN Dos Mares) of Pedro Aegea is held in the head.

In Mapfre Promoción the winner was Lagun (RCR Alicante) of Salvador Fernández. The Mercedes-Benz J80 class was also released where the female world champion crew Decoexsa (RCN San Sebastián) starts as leader.

The fastest boat in real time has been the Swan 80 Plis Play (RCR Alicante) of Vicente García, with a time of 3 hours, 49 minutes and 11 seconds to travel the 30.4 miles.

The Fandango 300 again demonstrated that it is a fast and competitive ship in these wind conditions. The ship patrolled by Julio Bernardeau won the first stretch for just two seconds in time invested to the Maverta Defcom Seguridad (RCN Torrevieja) of Pedro Gil. The Star Damm Sailing Team (RCMT Punta Umbria) of Nacho Montes with Jorge Martínez Doreste could only be third after fighting against the crone. In this way the Fandango 300 remains leader and this Sunday the title will be played with the Maverta. The third place in the general is the Euroatomized Group (RCN Castellón) of Javier Maestre.

The Andalusian Brujo has taken the lead in Lucas Fox ORC 3 after winning the return to the island of Tenca in its category, unlocking the leader of the TeamTac (RCN Denia) of Gustavo Gastaldi that has fallen to the third position. The Nemox-Bnfix (RCR Cartagena) of the Romero brothers is second. In Lucas Fox ORC 4-5 the smallest ship in the fleet, the Truel (CN Dos Mares) holds the leader, followed by MK III (CN Santa Pola) of Rafael Morán and the Marina Six (CN Altea) of Vicente Guijarro.

The premiere of the Mercedes-Benz J80 could not be better with the holding of three tests. It has been a first day in which the smaller ships have been the great dominators. In Lucas Fox ORC 0-1-2 the largest ships suffered much, as with such a loose wind they had to give much time to the smaller ships.

The Bat Fandango 300 patroniado by Julio Bernardeau was able to win the test before the great favorites such as the Maverta (RCN Torrevieja), while the Euroatomized Group (RCN Castellón) of Javier Maestre provisionally occupies the third place. The two ships ORC 1 Estrella Damm Sailing Team (RCMT Punta Umbria) by Jorge Martínez Doreste and Spaniard (RCR Alicante) by Juan Rodríguez, fourth and fifth respectively.

In Lucas Fox ORC 3 The Teamtac, the smallest ship in the fleet, was the one that was best benefited from the low wind conditions leaving the Witch (RCN Cadiz) of Federico Linares and the local Tanit IV-Medilevel (RCR Alicante), which were second and third respectively saw impotent as a 30-foot outlay them.

The Tembra Vela Diputación de Alicante returns this summer with more strength than ever after the inclusion of the test as one of the headquarters of the Iberdrola League of Women Vela, reserved for the J80 class.

This noon was presented at the headquarters of the Diputación de Alicante, a provincial institution that has been working for years to organize and disseminate this important nautical event, considered one of the most relevant in the whole Mediterranean.

The Tembra Vela Diputación de Alicante is a high-level cruise race included in the official national calendar.
