Three thousand students from 69 educational centres from 25 municipalities on the Catalan coast have participated... The Escolar Sport has the objective of approaching and promoting sailing among the students of 5th grade of primary schools on the coast... This programme is promoted by the Catalan Vela Federation, the Catalan Sport Council, the Department of Education and the Sports Councils of Catalonia, with the collaboration of the Vela clubs and schools and the municipalities and educational centres of the municipalities that have joined.

Today, the 5th grade students of the Empordà School Centre have held the closing event of the 2021 / 2022 course of the Esport Blau de Vela Escolar programme at the Grup d'Esports Nàutics de Roses.

A historic edition where nearly 3,000 students from 69 educational centres from 25 municipalities on the Catalan coast have participated. In this way, the Escolar Centre follows the road map established in 2017 and, year after year, continues to grow to reach all coastal municipalities and consolidate Catalonia as a country of sea.

The essence of the program is to train sailors and educate people, thanks to a polideportive activity in the sport of the candle where the values of gender equality, respect for the environment and our roots, teamwork and love for the sea are the pillars of their formation and education.

First, the attendees of the event have enjoyed in the first person the skill of the students of the Roses Educational Centre. Then, students and authorities have played a cooperative game. Finally, the representatives of the different entities have addressed a few words to those present and the accredited diplomas have been given to the students.

The municipalities participating in the Esport Blau Escolar during this course have cidp: Roses, Castelló d'Empúries, l'Cual, Palamós, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Blanes, Arenys de Mar, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres, Mataró, Premià de Mar, Montgat, Tarragona, the Masnou, the Prat del Llobregat, Castelldefels, Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltru, Coma-Ruga, Salou, Cambrils, Vandellòs, Alpita de la Carl'Intole, and the Alpita de la Carl'Infant.
