The event was attended by the mayor of Santander Gema Econo and the sports councillor Felipe Pérez, in addition to the Naval Commander of Santander Carlos Bonaplata, the Director General of Sports of the Government of Cantabria Mario Iglesias, along with the President of the Maritime Fernando Pereda

The seventh edition of the International Sailing Week of Santander City was officially presented at the Royal Maritime Club's command bridge.

The International Week will feature on this occasion two national road tests, such as the Spanish Cup of J80 and the Juan Sebastián Elcano Trophy for the Optimist class and 420.

The Snipe class will be in charge of opening the programming, with the XLII Memorial Rafael Sanz and XXV Memorial Juan de Dios Valenzuela, while the closure will be starring the already classic trophy SAR Don Felipe de Borbono-Cantabria Infinita for the cruises.

The two weeks of competition will start with a category of great tradition in Cantabria as is the J80 class, which has given the region world champions such as José María Torcida or Ignacio Camino and several national champions... the Spanish Cup of J80 will be held in the open of the Bay Santanderina from 16 to 19 June.

Then the turn of the Optimist classes and 420... the Trophy Juan Sebastián Elcano V Centenary of Optimist and 420 will have a hundred boats coming from the Basque Country, the Canary Islands, Asturias or Cantabria, and will be held between 21 and 23 June.

The closing of this next edition of the International Week of Sailing the City of Santander will be put by the powerful cruise fleet of Cantabria that will fight the trophy SAR Don Felipe de Borbono-Cantabria Infinita.
