It was held in the waters of Baiona, the dean race of sailors in reduced crews, created in honor of Rafael Olmedo and that on this occasion, as in other past, had the rank of autonomous championship that also had in play the great MRW prize.

The male awards of the two classes in dispute (ORC and J80) came to the hands of the couples formed by Rui Ramada and Óscar Peixoto (ORC) and Nano Yáñez and Manuel Fernández (J80), both of the Mount Real Club de Yates. They were the best in the competition and are, from today, the new Galician champions of A Dos, as they pray the plates given to them by the Royal Galician Federation of Vela.

The creation of these special categories depended on the number of registered in each of them and was able to form a female category in J80, with the victors Marta Ramada and Ana Sardiña of Monte Real; and mixed in ORC, where the couple formed by Brenda Maure and Jacobo Vecino of the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo was won.

They were in total 35.3 miles of journey that the largest sailboat in the fleet, the Yess (a Hanse 630 E), of Rui Ramada and Óscar Peixoto, completed "flying." It took just two and a half hours to turn Camouco and just over four and a half hours to finish the test.

Among the rest of the crews, they especially highlighted those of Deep Blue, Salaño dos, Orion, Fend la Bise and La María. This group of five ships, from the Royal Nautical Club of Vigo, the Monte Real Club of Yates and the Nautical Club of Cabanas, all with large navigators on board, always remained at the head of the fleet without getting lost sight of each other.

The Yess (MRCYB) ended the winner of the MRW Trophy in the ORC class, leaving the second and third position to Salaño 2 of Jacobo Vecino and Brenda Maure (RCN Vigo) and to the Orion of Javier Pérez and Esteban Gañete (MRCYB)

In the ORC OPEN class, the Secolite of Javier Rey and Jorge Justo (MRCYB), the Bouvento of David Fontán and Alex Luca de Tena (MRCYB) and the Tutatis of Roy Alonso and Alechu Retolaza (MRCYB) were on the podium.

2022-06-07: Rafael Olmedo Trophy in Baiona with A2 Autonomical range

Monte Real was the first Galician club to organize A2 races of solitarians, back in 1981... the Stylmark Trophy of Solitaries, proposed by the unforgettable editor of Yate and Motonautics Nino Begetti

Turn for the A2 Galician Championship this Saturday by the hand of Mount Real Club of Yates and with the sponsorship of MRW... ahead 35 miles from Baiona to the Ons Archipelago and back to the Villa de la Pinta.

In their navigation they will pass through the beacons of Carallones, La Negra and will continue to go up to the Islas Cíes and the island of Onza before reaching the lighthouse of Camouco, to the north-east of the island of Ons... to start the down to Baiona.

In Cruise ORC there will be tandem like Javier Pérez and Esteban Gañete in the Orion; Javier Rey and Jorge Justo in the Secolite; Jacobo Vecino and Brenda Maure in the Salaño dos; Vicente Cid and Javier Fernández- Ahuja in the Deep Blue 2.1; or Agustín Marquina and Fernando Rey in the Erizana, among others.

On board the J80 will sail some of the usual regatists of the monotypes leagues of Mount Real, such as the couple formed Luis de Mira and Susana Baena, from the club itself; Juan Martínez Pazó and José Ignacio Correa, from the Maritime Liceo of Bouzas or Rafael Blanco and Alejandro Vázquez, from the Royal Nautical Club of Portosín.

In addition to the awards of the MRW Trophy and the A2 Galician Championship, the competition will deliver two special trophies, those relating to the Rafael Olmedo Trophy, with which the Monte Real Club de Yates honors the one was its president for more than 40 years. The best on cruise and J80 will take them.
