The Asturian-Leonese tandem that competes for the Club Fluvial do Barco de Valdeorras in the province of Ourense, formed by Miguel Castañón and José Becerro, are provisional leaders at the end of the first sector of the opening stage held on Friday by the Miño Luense River, between Lugo and Portomarin, with a length of 17 kilometres.

The competition started from the legendary Lugo River Club, the cradle of the elite pyragüism in Galicia... with half an hour behind. The reason was a failure in one of the vans that with K2 came by road from outside Galicia, a short distance from the exit line.

The Provincial Palace of the Dependation of Lugo in the San Marcos Rúa hosted the official presentation of the Gold River Race-Xacobeo 21.22, the competition of ultra-amarathon-style piragüism that survived its baptism last year and that has aroused the interest of the International Federation to be a world-class reference, as well as it has been born as a great sports project and to value the water sports in the Interior Galicia.

In an event with the presence of Pilar García Porto, a member of the interior regime, the promotion of the territory and tourism of the Dutación de Lugo, which was accompanied by representatives of the concelos immersed in the route of the first stage that will run through the province: Portomarín, Taboada and Chantada, as well as by Francisco García de Bobadilla as president of the Organizing Committee, Javier Soto Garrido territorial director of Abanca in Lugo, the Council of Sports and Youth of the Concello of Lugo Mauricio Repeto and in representation of the Xacodo-Vacodo-Pala22.
