The twenty-second edition of the Star of Levante Regata 2022, a remarkable test for the Autonomical Cup of Cruises, closes and does so with a very high participation, with over 200 regatists who have competed this weekend in the appointment organized by the RCN of Torrevieja and in which it has also shone with its own light the Maverta and in which has highlighted the Serenety, with a completely female crew, ending in a work and meritorious fourth square in the class 4.

Little wind on this second and last day, as planned, although, despite this, it has been possible to complete the established route of 11.4 nautical miles, 9 for the 'peques'. This low wind intensity has led to a significant delay in the scheduled time of departure, launched the test at 12.20 hours being very adjusted and grouped by the fleet.

The Scamp Three has again been the fastest, using just over 1 h. 30 'to complete that 11 miles. In the back there have been quite a few steps, the Maverta being the second in real, followed by Trabuco, Slick, Sopu Tres and Greek the closest.

After obtaining the compensated times Maverta has been made with the test and with the race, by adding its second partial triumph. Silver for Scamp Three and bronze for Greek in Class 1-2. As for the rest of the classes, the winners have been the Mevilla-Jumbruck in Class 3, Mandanga in Class 4, Brisa in 5, Marchalado II in Division II and Maverta that has done it in the absolute general in Class 1-2.

The first day of the Star of Levante Regata 2022 has fulfilled the script, both in weather forecasts and in favorites who choose the final podium. With a coastal route to Cabo Roig and return, with a total of 14.2 nautical miles, the emotion has been served from the exit with a fleet quite grouped and through the center of the line. As the fleet's' big 'was to be expected, it has taken over the command very quickly, allowing the pursuit group to be very much stretched after the first race bars.

The Scamp Three, an HH42, has been the fastest to complete the tour, being its arrival time at 1447 hours, almost 2 hours to complete the tour (01: 44: 48 hours). Trabuco, an XP44, has been the second in real, with a difference over the first of 16 minutes. The difference of this bow with the other 42 feet, the Maverta, has been only 15 seconds, very equal the two ships. Sopu Three and Slick came behind. The rest of the fleet was very gradually reaching the arrival line located in the vicinity of the Torrevieja RCN.

After obtaining the compensated times, Maverta has been made with the first place in its category: Class 1-2. The second square has been for the Greek boat and Scamp Three. The winners in the class race have been Mar Menor in ORC 3, Marchalado in Division 2, Tamoa in Class 4 and Brisa in Class 5. As for the absolute general, which includes all classes, the provisional leader in the absence of a day and a portfolio test, is the Maverta of Pedro Gil.

Tomorrow the second and last day is held with another scheduled coastal race, with about 12 miles of tour.

2022-04-29: In Torrevieja begins the Heavy Sailing Regatta Star of Levant

The Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja raises the curtain to one of its most emblematic races: the Trophy Regata Estrella de Levante, which in the present edition is 22 years old. The Torreviejense meeting, which takes place between April 30 and May 1, has a very high participation reaching the 30 ships on the starting line.

The race under the patronage of the brewery brand Estrella de Levante is valid for the Autonomical Cup of Cruise of the Federation of Vela de la Comunitat Valenciana for what has been and is an additional incentive for the numerous fleet of the Comunitat Valenciana that meets in torrevieja waters.

Two days with two planned tests. For the opening day the committee has established a coastal tour to Cabo Roig and return, with a total of about 14 miles, while by Sunday it will also be coastal, but somewhat shorter, with 11.4 miles. After the exit the fleet will set out to a beacon in La Mata, hence another one near Cala La Mosca beach and return to the Club. Division 2 will make a somewhat shorter tour in both days.

As for the level of the fleet, several units stand out and point to podium, highlighted above all the Rodman 42 Maverta of Pedro Gil, although they also acquire a relevant role units such as the Sopu Tres of Jorman Nuutien (ORC 1); Trabuco, an XP44 of Francisco Martínez; Mevilla Jumbuck in the same category: ORC 2; Tucana I of Patricio Valverde, framed in ORC 5 among others.
