After the elimination of this first Spanish Cup of Sprint on Saturday April 23, in a day in which the senior and youth races were altered, giving the same importance to the present and future of Spanish pyragüism; on the Sunday day the medals were decided.

The most mature were the palists of the C1 200 senior female meters who fought their final at 09: 00 hours, followed by the youth. The Sunday morning of the end ended with the last race of K1 200 meters female youth. As it happened on Saturday, they alternated senior and youth.

As for the senior category, the kayak sprint finals were as follows: in K1 1000 Paco Cubelos and Isa Contreras were made with gold, in K1 500 the wins were for Begoña Lazkano and Marcus Cooper Walz. Finally, in K1 200 it was Carlos Arévalo who was made with gold in the male, followed by the always tireless Saul Craviotto, while in the female gold was for Isabel García Almodóvar.

Following the senior finals, the canoe results were marked by great performances such as the Chilean canoist María José Mailliard (world champion) in his victory in C1 500 or the double gold of Maria Cobrera in C1 1000 and C1 200. As for the rest of the winners, Cayetano García took the gold in male C1 1000, while in C1 500, the victory was for Adrián Sieiro. Finally, in the male C1 200, the gold went to the neck of Sete Benavides.

In addition, on Sunday, the Paracanoe palists who only played finals entered the scene. The first to compete were those of PV1 and PV2 200 higher male meters. In this section, several protagonists took the first positions in the different tests. Higinio Rivero was imposed in up to three: in PV2 200m, in PK2 500m and in PV2 500m, also being second in PK2 200m.

Adrián Martínez and Juan Antonio Valle distributed the victories in Kayak. Valle was imposed in PK3, both in 200m and 500m, and Adrián did in PK2 200m, while Adrián Mosquera took the triumph in the PV3 200m. In the female picture, Miriam González was imposed on both PK3, 200 and 50m, while his fellow Aranjuez, Sandra Ortega, defeated in the two PV3 tests.

2022-04-23: I Spanish Olympic Sprint Cup in Verdudo: no surprises at the opening

The first day of competition did not give rise to surprises and the great favorites will fight for the medals

The first day of competition of the I Cup of Spain Sprint that is disputed on the track of Verducido, ends with all the great candidates for the victory classified for the final.

Since 9: 00 in the morning, the various races with cold weather conditions and strong wind against which it made it difficult for athletes.

Thus, the pontevedresa Antita Jácome will open the final day scheduled for Sunday at the C1 200 where she will have as a great rival to the Madricala María Corbera. Jácome will also play the final in the 500-meter test, along with his teammate Claudia Couto.

The pallist of Cangas Teresa Portela will also be in the fight for the podium, after winning its semi-final with solvency in the K1 500. In the final he will have as opponents a priori stronger to Sara Ouzande, Begoña Lazkano or Laia Pelachs.

On the other hand the Olympic distance of 1000 meters, will have in the Kayak the presence of Roi Rodríguez, the palist will be measured to the Olympic Francisco Cubelos and Iñigo Peña that come to this date with a good shape.

Up to six Galician athletes will participate in the final of C1 1000 meters, David Barreiro, Jaime Duro, Diego Romero, Diego and Noel Domínguez will fight for a hole in the podium where the Sevillans Cayetano García and Pablo Martínez.

The betanceiro Carlos Arévalo now in the ranks of the Ucam Murcia was planted at the end of K1 200 meters where the multiple Olympic medalist Saul Cravioto will be present, both will also be at the end of the K1 500 meters.

2022-04-22 Olympic Sprint Spanish Cup on the Pontevedresa track of Verducido

Everything is prepared in the David Cal Sports Complex, located in the reservoir of the Pontevedrés Ponlón de Castro, in the council of Verdudo, for the celebration of a new edition of the first Spanish Cup of Olympic Sprint.

The Galician Federation of Piragüismo, together with the Royal Spanish Federation of Piragüismo, have prepared an event where 446 palists from more than 70 clubs will gather in the Galician town for the dispute of some championships in which the best Spanish will be seen on ships K1 and C1 and will compete over distances of 200, 500 and 1000 meters, where many of the participants will be in several of the scheduled distances.

As well as the Senior, they will also meet the best Spanish youth, competing in the same boats and distances, and the Paracanoe in categories PK1, PK2, PK3, PV2 and PV3 (200 and 500 meters). A total of 266 Senior (174 men and 92 women) and 155 Youth (104 men and 51 women) will be added to the appointment, to which the 41 palists of Paracanoe (31 men and 10 women) are to be added.

The Saturday day will be dedicated to the classification. From 09: 00 in the morning, when the first race of the day is released, and until 20: 01, when the last one is released, a total of 141 races can be lived over the waters of the David Cal Sports Complex.

On Sunday, it will be dedicated to the finals. One day it will start at 09: 29 hours with the senior female end dispute C1 200 meters and it will end, 62 races later, with the final B of the K1 200 meters youth with a scheduled departure at 14: 29 hours.
