The 470 bronze Olympic medal at the Tokyo Games, Nicolás Rodríguez, was undoubtedly the star of the Gala del Sporte de Vigo... which was held in the mayestatic framework of the Aféficio Theatre (García Barbon Theatre opened in the late 20's, work of the architect Antonio Palacios), with more than a thousand spectators present.

Among the decalogue of the recognition of ten institutions, or clubs or sports personalities of the City of Vigo and its Commonwealth of adjacent municipalities, another award was awarded to the candle, in the person of its general secretary, Manuel Pedro Seoane, who obtained the recognition of the Jury in large part for his work at the Abanca Week. Interestingly, the prize was received by a member of the bank's staf: Walter Alvarez, as well as by the Viguese mayor, Abel Caballero.

Other athletes of nautical specialties who were awarded in the Gala: Sergio Pereira (motonautica) and Rosa María Barrios (piragüismo).

The first recognition of the Abanca Week dates back to 2016, and it was given to him in Barcelona, because it is the multinational event concerning the national level... now comes to add to it, this distinction of the City Council of Vigo, with the particularity that the Executive of Caballero, has been sponsoring with the Trophy Concello of Vigo-Semana Abanca, a part of the event for several years.
