Reference event in the sector visualizes the commitment to safe navigation in sustainable port environments

Puerto Sotogrande has been the stage of the 3rd Maritime Safety Days that organizes the Sotogrande Sports Port itself and the Society of Salvation and Maritime Safety with the support of various companies and agencies in the area.

The event has been a success in terms of the number of participants and the level of practical activities, where, in addition to simulations, contingency plans have been put in place, using life raft where underwater activities have also had a great role to play, as well as the underwater robotics, thus showing the benefits of the blue economy, among many other actions carried out during the day itself.

The helicopter evacuation drill carried out by Salvamento Marítimo with the participation of an air unit and a rapid intervention vessel of the Society of Salvamento and Maritime Safety and carried out in the vicinity of the mouth of the Sotogrande Sports Port is noteworthy.

A simulation of pollution control was also performed by members of the Marine Area of the Port of Sports. The exercise consisted in the simulation of the appearance of an oily product spill from a boat docked in the port. The Internal Contingency Plan was activated by launching all protocols to respond to the emergency.
