Fernando González del Castillo del Real Club Náutico de La Coruña y Pepa Bermudez de Castro proclaimed themselves winners of the second edition of the Trophy Vithas that ended on the afternoon of Sunday in the waters of the Ria de Vigo, in the emblematic Regatas Field of the Cíos Islands... organized by the Club Marítimo de Canido. Fernando González del Castillo del Real Club Náutico de La Coruña in boys, and Natalia Domínguez del Náutico de Sanxenxo in girls... are the provisional leaders of the Trophy Vithas de Optimist, which in its second edition has brought together 153 ships from all over the north-west of Spain. At two and a half in the afternoon, the second edition of the Vithas Trophy, arrived from all points in the north-west of Spain and represented 17 clubs, organized by the Maritimo de Canido Club, chaired by Mauro Olmedo... which has been set as a short-term target for this event... to become one of the references of the peninsular base sailing.
The figures support Olmedo in his project: just over 90 optimist in 2021 and 153 in the second edition... and with an encouraging fact: 68 will be the girls in race... almost half of the registered.
In the technical section the Canido have managed to gather a cast of prestige. Emilio Méndez, who is one of the best sheriff of the base candle, will serve as the director of the race; the Vigués Carlos Murga the president of the jury, the Coruñés Jaime García who is a great specialist as the main officer, with the competition of two skilled and capable Ferrolians: Alfredo Fernández and Santiago Ferreiro.

The Club Marítimo de Canido and the Hospital Vithas Vigo have presented this morning the Trophy Vithas Vigo, which will hold its second edition, in which it is sought to become the reference of the competitions of the base sail in our waters as the first stage without neglecting that, in the medium term, it will become a national or even international meeting.
If in 2021 90 optimist was quoted, the figure to be reached in this second edition will be significantly higher: 150 units from all Galicia. The presence of the best specialists of Galicia, with the Galician Selection to the complete, is confirmed, which returns from competing in Catalan waters in the Spanish Championship of the specialty, in the Holy Week.
There will be two days of this second edition, which will begin on Saturday at the edge of two and a half in the afternoon, and on Sunday at ten and a half in the morning. The closure is scheduled for Sunday at 6: 00 p.m. The chief judges will be the Coruñés Jaime García as the chief regatta officer and the Ferrolian Alfredo Fernández, as the top representative of the protest committee.
The great favorite is, a priori, the Herculino Fernando González del Castillo which is the current number one official ranking of the Royal Galician Federation of Vela. In the presentation, the president of the Marítimo de Canido Club, Mauro Olmedo, highlighted the importance that this race, which reaches its twenty-second edition, has for the promotion of sport among the younger and for them to internalize healthy living habits linked to the sailing and the sea.
