The different versions of the 2022 edition of the Ruta de la Sal race have been characterized by being very fast... speed caused by the barometric low that was established to the south of the island of Ibiza, which is currently weakening, which caused the fleets to leave the CM Port Ginesta (at 12: 05 hours) and that of the RCN Denia (18: 00 hours), to reach record speeds.
In this fall to Ibiza of the Barcelona version fleet from Port Ginesta, the fastest has been the Maxi Dolphin 65 Gymir of Francesc Roig, which crossed the line of arrival in Sant Antoni of Portmany at 01: 55: 39 hours.
The first to achieve the real-time goal of the Denia version was the Vismara Mills 68 Pelotari Project by Andrés Varela Entrecanas, which crossed the arrival at 06: 23: 10 hours (today, April 15).
To highlight that integrated in the Barcelona version, also sailed the Czech catamaran Stellar, which participated in the multicascos category, reaching the west coast of Ibiza at 1: 48: 10 hours
Today Good Friday, at 10: 03 hours has also left Denia the fleet integrated in the MiniSal, the 55 nautical mile journey, with direct direction from the port of Denia to Sant Antoni. In this race, the fleet of 19 ships out has been found with initial sea conditions and winds conditioned by the barometric weakening of the cold drop, which has allowed to leave the sailboats with moderate winds of 8 knots, heading Ibiza.

Spectacular exit of the 60 ships that have left for Ibiza, from the port of Port Ginesta, facing bow to the port of the Nautico Sant Antoni of Portmany, at the first exit of the fleet of the Route of Sal 2022... with winds of up to 18 knots... which indicates that we are facing a very fast edition.
An optimal scenario for some crews to try to beat the test record, set on this 140-mile nautical stretch between the CM Port Ginesta and CN Sant Antoni in Portmany (Ibiza) of 13 hours, 18 minutes and 54 seconds, achieved by the Caro boat, the German 50-foot sailboat designed by Judel / Vrolijk, of the shipowner Werner Klink, who crossed the line of arrival on the same day of his departure from Port Ginesta, at 22: 18: 54 hours, on Thursday, April 21, 2011.
After the departure of the Barcelona version of La Ruta de la Sal, the fleet tied in the pants of the Nautico de Denia is waiting for its departure, scheduled for 18: 00 hours today... will be the second exit of La Sal 2022. There the conditions are tougher, and it was agreed to delay the planned departure at 14: 00 until 6: 00 p.m., waiting for the depression to amaira little, because the center of the cold drop is located in the southern maritime area of the island of Ibiza, which made the conditions of navigation more extreme. This same circumstance has advised the organization to delay the departure of the version Mini Sal, 55 miles direct from the port of Denia to Sant Antoni of Portmany for tomorrow Friday at 10: 00.

Due to the instability in time, the Regata Committee was forced to change the instructions of the test, with a priori delay of the exits, especially for the fleet that leaves Denia, where the expected departure tomorrow at 14: 00 hours, will be postponed by 18: 00 hours and the release of the Mini Sal version will be held at 10: 00 hours on Friday 15 April, as the instability is expected to disappear in the next hours.
From the Port of Sant Antoni of Portmany, the goal of the ships registered, in the CN Sant Antoni already has everything ready to host a fleet of 120 ships and to organize the events of reception of sailboats and crews and the events related to the award of prizes, such as the festival "La Movida," organized by the City Council of Sant Antoni of Portmany.

There are three days to leave the Sal Route 2022, scheduled for Thursday, April 14. With the complete sign, having exhausted the available mooring quota in the Port of Sant Antoni of Portmany, the goal of the registered ships, is already all ready to host a fleet of 120 ships. The great spring race of the Western Mediterranean is now ready.
The weather conditions, to date, are uneven and are the center of the organizers. For the fleet of the Barcelona Version, with exit from Port Ginesta, the winds of the north and north-east boast a very fast race, with option to beat the record of the test. For its part, for the fleet of Denia, with exit in front of the Royal Nautical Club of Denia, a somewhat greater intensity of the wind in the canal of Ibiza and the sea of the background predict a harder journey.
As a great novelty of this edition, note that the line of arrival will be positioned in front of the Bay of Sant Antoni of Portmany to further integrate the race with the Iberian town that hosts it, approaching with this new stage of arrival, the race to the entire local and visiting population, which will be able to enjoy the show of a Bay full of candles from the most competitive ships of the navigation of height.
For the category Mini-Sal, with a direct course of 55 miles from Denia to Sant Antoni de Portmany, the ban, which existed until the last edition, on the use of candles for bearing winds, is annulled, so that the participants can fully squeeze the capabilities of their vessels.
