The Spanish de Vela brings together its Olympic athletes in a great concentration

More than half a hundred regatists from different Olympic classes participated in this meeting that combined training with sessions from various disciplines
Mallorca has been the place chosen by the Royal Spanish Vela Federation to hold the first global concentration of the Olympic cycle, an unprecedented meeting that brought together athletes of the different classes that will be in Paris 2024.
The meeting concentrated more than 80 people among regatists and multidisciplinary team, with the presence of all the Olympic classes except for the iQFoil in El Puerto de Santa María in the iQFoil International Games.
The physical status of athletes was monitored by physical testing sessions at the Spanish Sports Technology Centre, as well as physical therapy sessions for the different teams. In addition to the training in the waters of Palma Bay, with bases in the nautical clubs of El Arenal and San Antonio de la Playa, all the participants participated in talks of various disciplines such as regulation, psychology or nutrition.
One of the team activities was the bike ride to the Shrine of Cura, Algaida, covering a total distance of 52 km with exit from the concentration hotel, Houm Plaza Son Rigo, on Palma Beach.
Among the attendees were not large figures such as Joan Cardona, bronze in the Finn Tokyo 2020 class, Jordi Xammar, bronze in 470 Male Tokyo 2020, or the Olympic diplomas Diego Botín and Florian Trittel. The regatists of the class ILCA Cristina Pujol and Joel Rodríguez also shared these days with the new members of the Olympic team, group 2028 and Level 3 of the National Plan for Sports Tecnification.
The week of concentration ended with the participation of the regatists in the Sailing Center regatta - Copa Iberdrola de sela mujer, a contact in competition with the bay of Palma that will host, from 1 to 9 April, the Trophy S.A.R. Princess Sofia Mallorca, with which the first Olympic Cycle qualifies for Paris 2024. The first ranking of the Iberdrola Women's Sailing Cup are headed by María Martínez (Galicia) in ILCA 6, Nora Brugman (Catalonia) in 470 Junta, Patricia Suárez (Galicia) and María Cantero (Canarias) in 49er FX and Iset Segura (Catalonia) in Nacra 17.
