On Sunday the first test of the Spring Cruise Trophy was held in Gijón Bay, a barlovento-sotavento of about 11 miles for classes I and II, and of just over 7 for the smaller ships of class III.

In the Cruise class I, the triumph was for the Taxus MedioAmbiente, by Alfredo Flórez who made a good race, overcame his most immediate rival the Orbayu II, by Miguel Suárez once the times were corrected for 36 seconds. The third position was for the BullBox, by Luis Noguera who won the last edition.

The Jarr, by Luis Llano, won with slack in class II, taking out more than 2 minutes of the second classified, the University of Oviedo- Grupo Isastur, by Roberto Álvarez- Bucetas. The Andantino of Raúl Menéndez finished the test in the third position.

The university ship of Marina Civil Espumeru, with Alberto Tablón to the cane, is again the ship to beat in class III, was the fastest in the test making a remarkable difference to its rivals. The Ita II of Pedro Guerra occupies the second position on the table, followed by the Pría, by Hernán Javier del Frade.

This weekend it starts in Gijón Bay, the Spring Cruise Trophy, of the Royal Astur Club of Regatas. Six days are scheduled to be held in March, April and May.

On Sunday at 1 p.m. it is planned to give the signal of attention in the bay of San Lorenzo to the first of the six scheduled dates, five of which will take place in Gijón, to which must be added a coastal tour of the return between Gijón and Luanco planned for the last day.

Last year's winners were the BullBox, by Luis Noguera in class I, Orbayu II, Miguel Suarez Ramón in 2 and Espumeru, by Alberto Tablón in III.
