The Majorca Sailing Center Regatta brings together from today, and until next Sunday, more than 260 ships of 34 nationalities and six classes in the bay of Palma for a training in competition format that exercises of authentic general essay for the 51 Trophy Princess Sofia Mallorca
Six of the ten Olympic classes that will play the 51 Princess Sofia Mallorca Trophy are called to play between 10 and 13 March the expected Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta, the traditional pre-Sofia training race.
The Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta 2022 brings together six Olympic classes with a large representation of more than 260 ships and about 400 regatists of 34 nationalities. In the absence of a complete registration of participants, the list of registered ships shows the participation of 73 ships in class ILCA 6, 60 in ILCA 7, 44 in 49er, 39 in 470 Junta, 37 in FX and 12 in Nacra.
It highlights the participation of several national federations, which take advantage of the exceptional conditions of Mallorca in March to make concentrations of their Olympic teams and compete in the Majorca Sailing Center Regatta as part of their preparation.
This is the case of the Royal Spanish Vela Federation or the German Vela Federation, which have been training in Palma Bay for several days. For the Spanish regatists of classes ILCA 6, FX, 470 and Nacra, it also exercises as the first punctuable test for the new Iberdrola Cup of Women's Sailing of the RFEV.
The Mallorca Sailing Center Regatta officially begins on March 10 with the registration of participants in the Nàutic S'Arenal Club and the San Antonio de la Playa Maritime Club, the two organizing clubs. The competition takes place from Friday, March 11, until Sunday, the 13th, in three race fields established between Can Pastilla and El Arenal.
The 51 Princess Sofia Mallorca Trophy is held under the joint organization of the Nàutic S'Arenal Club, the San Antonio de la Playa Maritime Club, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, the Real Federación Española de Vela and the Balear de Vela Federation, with the support of the main Baleares public institutions.
