The aim of promoting women's sailing in our country has led the Royal Spanish Federation of Vela to the creation of a specific circuit dedicated to the Olympic classes with female participation under the name of Copa Iberdrola, which will have its premiere in Mallorca this weekend.

With participation in the Olympic classes ILCA6, 470, 49er FX and Nacra17, there will be more than 40 athletes who will premiere the markers of the Iberdrola Cup within the Mallorca Sailing Center, whose program includes the test dispute between Friday 11 and Sunday 13.

This test will involve both the female-present crews and the other regatists that make up the team with which the RFEV works for the Paris Olympic Games (Olympic Team, 2028, and N3 of the National Plan for Sports Tecnification), which are currently concentrated in the Balearic Islands as an activity prior to their participation in the Princess Sofia Mallorca Trophy.

To this test, organized by the Arenal Nautical Club and the San Antonio de la Playa Maritime Club, will be added the Olympic Week of Galicia, from 8 to 11 October, which will be held in the Galego de Vela Center located in Vilagarcía de Arousa. The Canary Olympic Week, which organizes the Royal Nautical Club of Gran Canaria, from 3 to 7 December, will be the fourth race and will close the circuit the Copa Iberdrola 2022 the Christmas Race of Palamós between 18 and 22 December.
