The F50 Victoria will compete for the first time with a 100% Spanish crew. It will be in SailGP season 3, which will start this May with the Bermuda Grand Prix.
New Zealand's Phil Robertson, who has so far been a pilot of the Spanish team, will become a pilot of the Canadian team, a new member of the SailGP fleet. Robertson will last ride the F50 Victoria in Mubadala United States Grand Prix, 124; San Francisco last stop for season 2 and Grand Final.
Jordi Xammar, Olympic bronze in Tokyo 2020, will be the one who pitches the command of the F50 Victoria from the SailGP season 3, which will start in May in Bermuda. Xammar, who was one of the drivers of the Spanish SailGP team along with Florian Trittel, has during this time matched his Olympic career with the training and preparation required by the F50 to fly it.
At the moment, all teams are preparing their participation in the Grand Final of season 2, which will be held in San Francisco on March 26 and 27. For the time being, the teams in Australia and the United States have secured their final pass. For its part, the Spanish team currently occupies the fourth position of the general and has options to make a hole in the final in which the winner of the $1 million prize will be decided. Its main rivals are the US, Australia and Japan.
