The Catalan Federation of Vela has commissioned a study at the University of Barcelona to learn about the social, economic and local impact of sailing in the municipalities of the Catalan coast. The result of this study will serve to show in a reliable way the reality and current context of this sport.

In the first phase of the study, the clubs of the Catalan Sailing have been asked to respond to a questionnaire to feed the study of data and veracity. In addition to this questionnaire, the University of Barcelona will collect all information relevant to the sailing sport.

In the second phase, with the analysis of all the data and information, the University of Barcelona will prepare a document with the conclusions that will serve to show the health of the sector and all that it brings to society.

This study is part of the "Defensem la Vela" campaign and will value the great task that all clubs do day after day and highlight the grievances of some laws or political decisions such as now, among others, the Ports Act and the Costas Regulation.
