The experience of GPS location of all participating optimist is successful

The competition could be followed in real time through a GPS device system, used for the first time in an Optimist race in Catalonia...
competition organized by Club Nàutic Cambrils is part of the Catalan circuit of the class, bringing together 150 regatists from 16 Catalan clubs.

The first position has been for Daniel Garcia of the Nàutic Club El Masnou, for its part the regatists of the Nàutic Cambrils Club Iker Múgica and Joan Fargas have classified second and third absolute and sub 16 of G1 of the Regata Territorial Mestral N2 Optimist held this weekend in the waters of Cambrils.

In G2 the podium was for Manuele Riera, from the Grup Esports Nàutics de Roses, followed by Daniela Garcia, the Níutic Club El Masnou and Agnès Hadzi, the Níutic Club El Balís.

The Teritori Mestral race has had as a major novelty the installation of GPS devices in each of the participating vessels, which has allowed to track the race in real time, the Nàutic de Cambrils managed to organize the first competition of optimist in Catalonia where these devices have been made use... the initiative has been made possible thanks to the sponsorship of the company Dream Flyers, the distributor of Metasail, the manufacturer of the GPS used in this first.
