New victory in Baiona of the Okofen of Gandara this time in the Baitra League

Javier de la Gandara is the best of the Gallego J80... light years... even though in Baiona there are good cages as is the case of Ameneiro and Nano Yáñez... but as it is said in Portugal... or Gandara e outra cousa, pa! (Rosana Calvo photos of the sea and Yago Crespo of the cast)
It was written. Javier de la Gandara again monopolized the victories of the J80 races at the Monte Real Club de Yates de Baiona. As it could not be otherwise, his Okofen was clearly established in the Baitra League... with Gandara today they competed Diego Fernández and his son Jaime.
Javier collected the trophy that credits him as the winner of the Baitra League for the fourth consecutive occasion, by the hand of a veteran sails mecenas: Juan Carlos González, who is the soul mater of that company referring to the nautical supplies: Baitra.
With a wind from the north that blew with good intensity and a field of regats located between the Virgin of the Rock work of the unforgettable porrenees architect Antonio Palacios and the Estelas islands... the first two sleeves were for the Okofen and the third and last for the Alboroto of Juan Carlos Ameneiro, who finished second in the general and took the silver of the Winter League with 22 points.
The Maries of Manel Cunha, who had all the paperwork to close the winning podium, did not go out on Saturday to compete, and that caused him to lose all his options of hanging himself a medal. He left the Cansino de Alejandra Suárez free to climb into the third drawer and hang the bronze with 43 points.
The group of the top five of the monotypes was closed by the Spaco de Santiago Estévez, fourth with 59 point; and the Portuguese Marías, fifth with 69. The trophies were handed over, in addition to the general director of Baitra, Juan Carlos González; the mayor of Baiona, Carlos Gómez; and the deputy of Economic Promotion of the City of Pontevedra, Raquel Giráldez.
The five magnificent ones were the following on a really significant list of 20 J80 monotypes.

The fleet of J80 Galician is in dispute this Saturday in Baiona the final of the Winter League Baitra J80, a competition that, after having lived five previous stages, will probably be resolved in favor of Professor Gandara, with a sixth and final day of tests... beginning at 3: 00 in the afternoon.
On the basis that the first square, except monumental surprise has almost secured the owner... the uncertainty of the podium appears in the rest of positions, which provisionally occupy the Alboroto of Juan Carlos Ameneiro, second with 20 points; and the Marías of Manel Cunha, third with 27. Although the Alboroto has been more regular than the Marías throughout the season, entering among the first three in all the tests except one; the truth is that the advantage that it brings to the Portuguese sailboat is not too wide and will have to strive to secure the silver.

The Okofen was strong this Sunday in Baiona waters on the penultimate day of the Winter League J80, which the Mount Real Club of Yates has organized since last January with the sponsorship of Baitra Naval Accessories.
The crew leading Javier de la Gandara signed two solid victories in the two disputed trials and put the even higher bar to its most direct competitors, the Alboroto de Juan Carlos Ameneiro and the Marías de Manel Cunha, which follow second and third respectively.
There were no changes in the provisional podium in terms of positions, but there were changes in the score that separates the three candidates from taking the championship, which is now much wider. The 12 points that the Okofen has allow you to dream already with the laurels of the leguilla, by taking 8 points of advantage to the Alboroto, which has 20; and 15 to the Marías, with 27.
The crews that are fighting the monotypes of Mount Real will see their faces again on April 2, the day on which the sixth and final phase of the Winter League of J80 is scheduled to be held.

Okofen with Javier de la Gandara to the controls, they remain leader of the Winter League Baitra J80 of Mount Real Club of Yates after the celebration, on Saturday, of the fourth stage of the competition.
The J80 of the number one Spanish ocean candle of all time, finished the first manga of the day with a fourth place, getting to the second and first crossing the line of arrival, allowing it to continue in the head of a classification leading with 10 points.
With fifteen points, the Alboroto de Juan Carlos Ameneiro, one of the teams highlighted on the day of this Saturday, signed a brilliant first and a third in the two trials.
There were therefore no changes in the temporary gold and silver posts, and also in the bronze post, which continues to occupy the Marías of the Portuguese Manel Cunha, with 19 points. The fourth and fifth, the Cansino, of Alejandra Suárez, with 34 points, and the Spaco of Santiago Estévez, with 44, appear at a greater distance.
In the first test, the Alboroto de Ameneiro sailed with solvency and was the first to cross the arrival line, with some advantage over the rest of the fleet. In second position the Propspeed of Chisco Catalán, with the brothers Luis and Jorge Pérez Canal and Ramón Ojea completing crew, and the third place was for the Portuguese of the Marías.
The Okofen of Gandara entered fourth, signing its worst result to date, but in the second manga he did not forgive and replaced himself in the head. He finished first and goes on first in the classification. In this second manga, the Marías and the Alboroto finished second and third, reaffirming themselves as the two strongest rivals to stand up to the Okofen.
The Dancing Winter League J80 continues this Sunday with the fifth day of testing from 11: 00 in the morning. At that time the first of the three sleeves planned for which will be the penultimate stage of the competition, which is scheduled to end next April 2, will be put in play.
2022-03-17: Double day this weekend at the J80 Baitra with Gandara in command

For the first day of Saturday, the forecasts announce wind between 7 and 11 knots of southern component, with the possibility of rolling and falling into intensity as the hours advance
The Iberian Northwest J80 fleet is tied up in the Baiona Yacht Club, which since last January has been in Baiona the Baiona Winter League J80 returns this weekend to water on a double day competition. The eight-metre fleet will be held in its fourth and fifth events: on Saturday from three in the afternoon and on Sunday from 11 in the morning.
With six tests in two days of race and the possibility of a discard being applied, everything points to the fact that the double day of this weekend will be decisive for the configuration of the final podium, since after this phase, only the last three tests, scheduled for the next 2 April, will remain to be held.
So far, Javier de la Gandara's Okofen is the race team that has shown itself to be more solid in the competition, with a partial of four first positions and a second. He is a leader with 6 points followed by the Alboroto de Juan Carlos Ameneiro (with 11 points) and the Marías de Manel Cunha (with 14 points), which close the provisional podium.

New chapter of the J80 Baitra in the waters of Baiona, by the hand of Mount Real Club of Yates... Cansino with Alejandra Suárez to the cane was imposed on the first sleeve, and how not! Javier de la Gandara with his Okofen was in the lead.
The Winter League Baitra J80, which will return to the water on the fourth day on March 5, lived on Saturday a very special moment when the fleet, before starting the tests, kept a minute of silence because of the death of the mother of the Vice President of Mount Real, Alechu Retolaza.

2022-02-05: Gandara imposes its law with Okofen and stands out in the J80 Dance League in Baiona

The Okofen of the vineyard Javier de la Gandara was placed on Saturday in the head of the Winter League Baitra J80 after being imposed on two of the three tests with which the competition was opened. The crew came with the thorn nailed after the Autumn League had escaped and showed, forcefully, why it is one of the best teams in liza and one of the clear seekers of the final victory.
The De la Gandara people easily regateated and managed to draw a significant distance from the rest of the fleet at many times. In fact, in the first sleeve they crossed the line of arrival with great comfort separated from the rest.
Something more complicated was put to them the second test, in which they gave in to the Alboroto, led by the Spanish class champion, Javier Aguado. The sailboat was the fastest to take the buoys and get to finish, making with the victory of the sleeve and leaving the Okofen in the second drawer.
But the crew of Gandara was not willing to let escape the desired triumph and took advantage of the third and last test of the day to sentence the classification with another first position. And so, with a partial of 1-2-1, it was like the Okofen was made with the first victory of the Winter League, which the Mount Real Club of Yates organizes until next April thanks to the sponsorship of Baitra Naval Accessories.
Next to the Okofen and the Alboroto, the other prominent sailboat of the day was the Marías of the Portuguese Manel Cunha, which always remained very close to the first positions. He ended up with results of 2-3-3 and the third place in the provisional classification, but if he keeps his good doing it will certainly be one of the crews to take into account in the next days.
The Top-5 after this first day of competition is closed by the Cansino of Alejandra Suárez and the Spaco of Santiago Estévez, fourth and fifth respectively. The next date with the winter league of monotypes is next day 19.

The lack of wind prevented the J80 Galician fleet from premiering on Saturday in the Winter League Baitra J80, which the Mount Real Club of Yates organizes with the sponsorship of Baitra Naval Accessories.
Although the race committee managed to launch the first of the three tests scheduled to open the competition, the sailboats were able to complete only one of the two laps that included the sleeve.
In the middle of the first round, the difficulties for crews with roles and wind falls in the offset area began. However, most of the ships managed to reassemble to the next beacon zone, but when they were ready to start the second round, the situation became unsustainable and the committee decided to override the test.
The race was then set by waiting for wind to come in with the direction and intensity necessary to resume the competition but it was not possible and the fleet was forced to return to the ground without having been able to inaugurate markers.
The next meeting with the Winter League Baitra J80 is on February 5 with the second of the six days that will be launched.
